Being stuck in Diamond V at 0 points ruined my MMR

It keeps you too long from demoting back to platinum which has happened to me and it completely screwed up my MMR causing me to lose 24 points a match after I did get demoted.

Do you know how hard it is to come back from that when you have to win 3 games to make up for 1 lose? Why is this a thing? can riot take a look at this? this is garbage I can't get anywhere now I dropped ranks SO quick after that and there was barely anything I could do, my bad luck streak turned into an even worse streak and I actually started to give up on my rank for now and just play one of my weaker roles to get better at it and accept my defeats if I do lose. (Best ashe EU i swear) But point still stands fix this atrocity please. (And diamond V itself is one weird place to be at and I pray you'll never reach that place because you'd wish you were back at silver.)

I'm having a bit of a similar situation :p

I made it to platinum 3 and made it to promo games to platinum 2 and ever since, I've been going down. Now back in platinum 4, and everytime I make it to promo games to get back to plat 3, I start losing again and go down to 0 points.

It happened 3 or 4 times already. I can't win enough games to promote although I'm usually winning my lanes, and it's team fights that always drag me down. I do play in team btw, and try as hard as I can, but when 1 lane feeds enough to make someone too big to lose, it becomes a drag.

Heck yesterday, 4 of us had positive kda, and one only lost, and it happened to be top lane. Which left us with a nasus that can't die. We ended up losing the game just because of 1 person.

Well then I disagree with you. I enjoy the safety of making it into platinum 5. Most people don't want to lose few games and instantly demote back in gold. That's actually outrageous. Taric

you're plat 3 with plat 5 MMR.

Im d5, and I have no problem winning most games at p5 mmr.

The reason why you can climb, is because you arent even playing the champs that got you to d5 to start off with.

You don't get demoted until your mmr drops to plat 5.

It's understandable that when you do get demoted to plat 1, you're GOING to lose loads of points per loss and not make it back to diamond without a huge number of games or some insane luck. You're going to be plat 1 with plat 5 mmr, so you're still 4 divisions too high.

You played all the same games you would have if your rank had updated faster. You just played them all as a D5 instead of as a P1/P2/P3/P4/P5. Most players would be grateful to have a D5 or P1 rank when they only deserve P5 or less. I mean, i had P3 ish mmr in each of the last 2 seasons but only got as high as gold 3. That direction is the bigger issue.
