Why does riot actually care about what is said in a chat and doesnt address the real problem?

Lets actually look at the real problem, people who 1. play with groups of friends who all report 1 person for not that bad of an offense, except they get butt hurt about what someone says and they all report them (this is the only actual evidence I've ever witnessed of anyone ever actually getting punished from reporting I've been on both sides) 2. passive aggressive tilt behavior that brings out "toxic" behavior which is also subjective to everybody, 3. why is there a voice chat when it cant be used universally, its such a waste if i can only use it with my friends, I'm literally on discord with them already. 4. the majority of the community is young adults, don't act like this isn't true, streamers audiences, conventions etc all prove this as fact and "toxic" behavior is your bullshit concept for nerds who cant handle being "bullied" by random people when they can mute them and grow up, especially when half the chat gets censored anyways. 100% this is going to get ignored because you cant be an adult and everyone will over look this as "oh hes just toxic" like listen to how childish that sounds and how you would probably get shit for actually saying something dumb like that in public lmao, treat the adults like adults with this boring as shit game when shit talking is literally 90% of the fun, using tilt for the enemy is how sports work and i know the nerds of the community wouldnt understand that being that most havent passed middle school or barely made it past highschool jv sports. Lets look at Videogame Dunky as a prime example, you can use the link as how the mature majority of the community feels about this retarded bullshit of a report system which doesnt work and is half the reason that creates toxicity as you want to call it.

1 report = 9 reports.

  1. passive aggressive tilt behavior that brings out "toxic" behavior which is also subjective to everybody,

How is the system even supposed to catch this?

  1. why is there a voice chat when it cant be used universally, its such a waste if i can only use it with my friends, I'm literally on discord with them already.

Shall I go on?

What is grown up about flaming or generally being an asshole? I thought being an adult was learning how to control yourself?

100% this is going to get ignored because you cant be an adult and everyone will over look this as "oh hes just toxic" like listen to how childish that sounds and how you would probably get shit for actually saying something dumb like that in public lmao

In public, you likely wouldn't belittle a random person for making a mistake though.

treat the adults like adults

When people start acting like it.

with this boring as shit game when shit talking is literally 90% of the fun

I don't think League is for you.

using tilt for the enemy is how sports work and i know the nerds of the community wouldnt understand that being that most havent passed middle school or barely made it past highschool jv sports.

I REALLY don't think League is for you.

He literally advocated the guy be murdered, what did you expect to happen?

I'm gonna stop you at 1 because no matter how many reports someone gets its the same as just one report because it just flags the account so I'd a premades gangs up on someone it doesn't mean they will get banned also using the video from dunky is the worst thing you could of done because anyone that didn't know about him would instantly want him banned

Because riot actually doesn't deal with chat reports, They Literally Have a bot that ticks a 0 to a 1 when you report someone for in-chat shit, And that bot will look for trigger words, terms and such, Then go off that?

I mean Do you fucking know how apathetic riot would be if they actually had to review EVERY fucking report?

a rioter said people who are toxic in chat get punished more often and severely is because it's easier to automate the punishments and because a lot of people get super mad when they get flamed in chat so riot tries their best to appeal to them

Using that Dunkey video to try to support your argument is pretty much admitting defeat since it's a known fact that he lied in it, which Lyte proved back when he still worked at Riot. To quote Lyte:

What do you think about vgdunkey's ban?

It's really unfortunate. Many Rioters love Dunkey's content, and I've unloaded my share of "Not even close babyyyyy" jokes around the office; however, we really can't show favoritism to someone just because they are a pro or a known content creator. This isn't really a debate about whether trashtalking is OK or not OK in games; we've talked a lot in the past about how we're OK with players bantering with their friends but you should be careful when interacting with strangers who may not understand your intentions--especially if you're using hate speech or slurs. We have a zero tolerance policy against hate speech, racism, homophobia, and sexism and that policy stands whether you're a random player, a pro player, or a Youtube celebrity.

This also really wasn't a case about intentional feeders and whether it's OK to be toxic towards other toxic players--there wasn't even a Malphite in the game that got him banned and either way, retaliation just isn't OK because it makes the experience worse for everyone else in the game.

We know that players have been asking us to be more aggressive against intentional feeders for awhile, and it has taken us a bit longer than we'd like. We do consider gameplay toxicity just as serious as verbal toxicity, and are launching a new Intentional Feeder Detection system in 5.18 that can ban feeders within 15 minutes of matches. We're starting with conservative settings to make sure the system would not ban players for having the rare bad game, even if it was a 0-10 type of bad game but this is a great first step to aggressively tackling intentional feeders.

At the end of the day, this incident sucks for everyone. We respect that Dunkey hasn't posted his Reform Card, and I'm not going to post it either. Best wishes to him in the future.

Other than that you're just looking for an excuse to act however you want without being punished. Sorry but it doesn't work like that. Chat is meant to be used as a tool for communication, not for you to yell and rage at people who do stuff you don't like. Not only that but the mute button is not a "get out of jail free" card either. If you can't handle that then multiplayer online games are just not for you. Refer to Jamarees posts for more detailed explanations about why the mindset you have isn't appropriate here.

Forgot i was talking to the 1% of the community who acts like words are such a huge deal, who gives a fuck if someone tells someone else to kill themselves, grow a pair and dont do it, its that simple, "when people start acting like adults" yea sorry but have you seen even people in their 40s, 50s or even 60s doing dumb childish shit, maturity goes so far and being an adult has a vague meaning to you, we have the right to act how we want esp if its a video game and if you dont like what were saying you can mute it, thats why the option is there for us "assholes" to act like it and if you cant handle someone being an ass in a video game, life must be hard or pretty suicidal for you tbh with you being in your emotions all the time, but forgot you guys cant be realistic when it comes to real life issues and have your video game fake internet lives and follow a life how riots wants you to live instead of being grown up and actually being a grown up. you cant listen to reason.

Because snowflakes make up the majority of their player base so Riot is forced to ban people for stupid reasons like typing in chat xD
