Cats.
Mine seeks attention all day literally and always wants to play lol He follows me everywhere too. The moment when he sees me is when he rolls on his back which means he wants attention.
The dog pros are: 1: That they actually like you. Cats only tolerate you (but god they're cute doing it) 2: Like you said, dogs are more trainable. 3: There's more variety. They come in basically every shape, color, and size. Basically every attempt to make a "different" cat has resulted in horribly vicious tendencies or weird shit like dwarf cats. They have tiny legs, but a normal sized body. 4: Are better if there are little kids in your house (cats can be pretty dangerous to little kids)
Personally I like cats much better too, but there ARE pros to dogs.
Catdog > cats or dogs. Best of both worlds. Also they're extremely stretchy, can talk, never go to the bathroom, and double as a fire hose.
I mean both are different creatures that can't be compared very well since every animal usually has different personalities.
But i must say, Cats are fucking amusing, they are so broken some times... Like, the signal on their radar gets blocked or something and they just spin around, it's weird. Government spies in fluff suites.
Dogs run on windows xp basically, so they can be slow at times. But they are the best snuggle buddy ever, protect your home with borks, and are definitely the more loyal companion. And dogs encourage you to be active!

I feel like this is asking for an argument but Dogs are just so much better and if you dont like them then thats your preference but your probably just scared of them so you must be a Pussy... get it Pussy like pussy cat yeah ok ill kms
I mean... Given the reasons that you listed it's obvious you lean towards having a cat (maybe because you don't like the higer maintainance for the dog). So why even ask other people especially because that a personal thing, some like dogs better, other cats. So it's really only you who can know which you'd like.
Anyone who is trying to walk their dog 10 times a day is either overfeeding him or trying to help him lose weight. 3 walks a day is usually all that's needed.
If they're pooping on your carpet, you're not walking them enough.
Dogs are also quite capable of stomaching most leftovers from dinner.
And if the dog is eating your shoes, make sure he either can't access the good ones or has a chew toy.

I'm allergic to both so... I did try to have them both The dog was a total failure (red eyes,wet nose) The cat was a success cause we dont allow it in my room! mehehehehehehehe
