Thoughts on RIOT GAMES as a game company......

Riot is a multi-billion dollar company we're talking about here, the least they can do is make the only game they have to look good, look at other (same genre) companies like Blizzard, Valve or Hi-rez, their games (Dota2, Smite & hots) look so much better than league Graphics-wise so the least they can do is keep the game balanced and offer new things like better skins, better rewards or even better champion designs don't we deserve that ?, the game got released 10 years ago for gods sake and more than half of the original champs are in dire need of a visual or a gameplay update and not just the champs there are still outdated or missing UI elements, balance issues, broken champions, a proper missions system, good lore and so much more.

Then again the game got released 10 years ago, the Witcher 3 was made in 3 and a half years, GTA V was developed in 3 years and Riot games still fixing the only game they have, the game still has so many mistakes it's horrible, to say the least.

Dota 2 has a sandbox mode, free heroes for life and much better graphics and UI elements. Smite has better graphics, 6 different game modes and maps, and new gameplay mechanics. Hots have the same and more. but what does league have ? 1 map and a thousand skin

It all leads to the new "Game" Riot made; TFT. nothing much to say here except that other ""MOBILE"" Autochess games HAS better graphics, better UI, smoother gameplay, Better Item system, better map designs, more clarity, better rewards and heroes that actually level up visually when combined not just grow in size like in TFT. please go and see DOTA UNDERLORDS proto pass and compare it with league's beta pass and see the difference the two companies have and how much-dedicated valve is to their games compared to Riot.

it's really saddening that the game most of us spent so much on, it's developer won't even spend half of that time to make the game better and more appealing in today's standards, and it's too late to invest in other games because we already wasted our times on a game that only cares about money, all gaming companies do the same but at least they give us polished and stable games .

It's an awful company with awful people in decision making positions.

The fact that more people are playing this over any other kind of showcases that graphics don’t mean as much, but yeah less bugs would be nice

the art style is what it is so that dated pc's can run the game. accessibility. ironically the pro's with the best pc's turn off the glits and glam and play as low res as possible and the game looks good enough for highlight channels to blow up. all the money is spent on funding the e-sports and paying lord tencent his dues, thankfully for rito the skins thing makes so much "good" money that it's become the creme standard of the industry as far as microtransactions goes, and the KDA event just cemented that further so perhaps we already picked our poison.

Dota's Artstyle is much more gritty and less stylised than league, by no means is it better. In fact league's artstyle is much clearer than the one in DOTA. this art style is also alot more attractive to larger groups of people. UI seems to be the same with a bunch of useless crap added. the same can be said about OW compared to CoD. HoTS has by no means better graphics than league lmao.

Dota also runs on characters Much, much older than both league and dota as they're straight from the original dota. League also easily beats most games that aren't pokemon in the ammount of playable characters and skins.

Smite is a third person game and thus needs far higher details in their models because of how close the player is to the character. the same goes for your witcher and GTA which are far from as big as league is when it comes to models/animations. I'm sure you'll notice some character showing up twice, here and there.

are there some outdated models still in the game? yes, sadly when you have 150 characters and weekly patches that include skins this slows down vu for the likes of shaco. However there's like 3 that are this bad that i can think of rn Shaco DrMundo Udyr, aside from them the new champs obviously have better models/rigs than the semi old ones, but they still hold up fine.

all in all bitching about leagues graphics is silly as they look good but still run on most pc's, riot values this heavily as league is supposed to be the accessible moba. most of these complaints seem to be badly informed when it comes to actual game graphics, especially the comparison to the likes of GTA/The Witcher. i'll admit they should start doing VU again but they seem to want to do full VGU's much rather which means it takes ALOT longer.

but honestly if you like Valve that much. go play their game?

Yes this game had so much potential and it’s being run into the ground. In 20 years I’ll remember the time I gave up on what could’ve been so much more

I find league the most visual pleasing of any of the mentioned games and hots is dead in the water now tbh.

Small indie company.

their decision to divide the resources into this and tft are gonna kill the normal game. Its already going downhill. Just listen to any promoter or regular player of this game and they will tell you it has gotten bad.

I think Riot can be criticized a lot for league, and outside of a few outliers (Udyr) you can't really get them on the graphical front.

I will say however the fact that we still don't have a proper sandbox mode (the sad excuse that is practice mode doesn't really count), custom game modes with lots of customization settings, and next to zero support for anything that isn't tft or SR is annoying considering the size of the company.

Riot can't wavehand with the "resources" excuse when refusing to balance TT when they're making more than a lot of other game companies do as a whole on this ONE game.
