Honorable Opponents.... Who cares?

Shut up about this topic no one caress!!!!

I care. That's why I've made 4 posts about it in the past month, up voted every post I've seen on the topic and posted many response comments. But I have noticed that those who don't want it back simply don't care one way or another. I think that as an "esport" more emphasis should be placed on respecting opponents in general. Regardless of the reason you choose to honor them the option was a nice way to let your opponents know you enjoyed playing against them.

As long as the argument for honoring opponents is that players 'want to honor opponents' and 'we used to able to honor opponents', I can't support it.

The argument for honoring opponents must address:

the question of players choosing to honor enemies and not teammates
the value and purpose of honoring opponents in the new honor system

Arguments that 'we want to honor opponents' and 'we used to be able to honor opponents in the terrible failure that was the old honor system' are not good enough to earn my support for the proposal.

Don't get it wrong. I think it would be cool to honor opponents too! But until the suggestion become more coherent, I regard it as upvote farming by players who want something but don't care enough to spend the time to make their idea coherent and useful.

Being able to earn honors from the enemy team if you're a good sport might help make the climb back from honor 0 or 1 not feel so stupid.

As it stands, the only real way you can earn honors is to carry games since your teammates can only give a single honor each, unless you meet the very rare person who actually honors you for not being a jerk.

It's just nice though innit? If there's a bit of fun between two opponents - you want a bit of honor yourself too = more rewards rather than a hextech chest giving champ shards every time 😂

I -love- being able to honor my opponents... it also made people less toxic, when You could be honored by BOTH teams for being a decent human being.

ofc i want to honor some! atm i can only report those who provoke with comments, mastery-symbole and so on. i am tired of it to just be negative - if necessary.
