Is it worth it to play ranked in the off season i finished silver 3 if i climb to gold would it be worth my time

Well if you can increase your MMR by the time season 8 starts, you will generally get a better placement when the reset happens.
Yes, it is worth it. For starters it allows you to play against players of similar skill, beyond that however if you improve your rank now it will affect what your rank will be when the season restarts.

Your rank next season, after placements, relies HEAVILY on your ending preseason rank. So if you don't want to have to climb as far to reach your current rank, I suggest you take it very seriously, especially if you want to hit a higher rank next season.
I was silver 1 just before the season ended....as always and now i have climbed to gold IV and i hope more,my MMR is for gold 3 ,is there a chance i get placed automatically in gold next season ?
