Why do i have to create a new account?
I just logged on and League said i need to create a new Riot account but why do i have to make a new login name?? Why can't i use my old one?

Because fuck you, that's why.
You don't need to create a new one. Literally all you have to do is open the email you should have gotten and click on the link in it to change your username.
