Is to rush Zhonya's and hope that it's not on cooldown when he ults, and I fucking hate this bullshit. Change something about his ult for God's sake.

Yeah. It's kinda a known problem with its design.
Unfortunately it's just not near high enough a priority due to dozens of other champions needing reworks more than him.
