Why does it seem like DH on Elise only gives me shit damage?

So I'm too lazy to switch DH to Electrocute if I need to at times, and not too long ago I started playing DH Nidalee (my main) instead of electrocute on her because I noticed how much more powerful she can be with DH. However, before all this started, I played Elise with the same runes as Nidalee, and I would do fine with decent damage at times in games with electrocute on Elise. Now that I use DH instead of electrocute for my AP champ pool. My damage on Elise seems to have gotten weaker. Plus the stacks don't help no matter how many DH stacks I take from jungle camps. Is it just me or is DH somehow garbage on Elise? Or is my winrate with her just going through a losing streak of its own?
