It’s exactly what I’m afraid of.... I don’t want politics in League or any of the identity politics bs in it. You can say Nidalee is strong by describing muscle definition, not by saying she’s a “strong” woman. It’s too vague and can be considered bad writing at best, politically charged and pandering to the “I’m a strong woman” crowd at worst. I’m an optimist though and I’ll just call it bad writing. No one would describe Darius in a story by saying “And he stood before me, a big strong leader.” You’d think it was written for four year olds in a fairy tale. “Beautiful, strong, dark-haired woman,” is just slapping some plain descriptor terms onto a character that should CERTAINLY have more depth than “Yup, she’s a big strong woman.” It’s too vague and says nothing about her. Tell me about the abs she’s developed from hunting in the trees, the tone in her legs from running down her prey, or the rock solid look of her biceps from wrestling with tigers. Don’t give me some “strong woman” crap because then I’m inclined to think Riot wants to pander to a crowd. The same goes for beautiful. Too vague. Beauty can be defined a million different ways. I mean looking back at all of it, the sentence really is quite a mess of poor writing
