Ranked placement The issue of afking players

Hi LoL community and Riot team,

I wanted to open up a discussion on the issue of players afking during placements game. Just fresh out of one of my placement where our JG afked bc the lane refused to leash him. yes the laner should have leashed but that dosn't excuse the AFK from our jg.

I want to ask Riot and the community if it would be fair to not count that placement for the teammates of the AFKer? If that game were to not count for the rest of the team it would be a positive thing for the rest of them. I'm down for the AFKer to still be counted as a loss being that they forfeit for the rest of the team with out a vote. the game is already a loss due to being down a player and it dosn't make it a fun or fair game for the remaining teammates. Maybe have a timer on it where if they afk before 15 the game dosnt count for the rest of their team.

In the future what does everyone think about this?

They fixed ranked placements this year!

Usually i get 5 afks out of 10 games,

Now i only get 4 afks out of 8 games!

I feel that it's really not a good idea to give players the chance to completely scrub a loss from their records in this manner. TBH the problem isn't even with AFKs, it's with the ranking system itself. Having your rank be determined by wins and losses don't allow players to be placed in a position that more precisely matches their skills. This might not have mattered before, but with Season 9 people are starting to notice that one bad player can completely ruin a game.

why only during placements. Why should it count post placements? Right now there is ZERO punishment for trollers running it down mid or afking. So you get a 10 min queue when you get caught afking. Big whoop. How about ACTUALLY banning someone for it.
