when is cho getting nerfs
i can't handle him in his current state, absolutely insane that a tank gets that much damage and don't get me started on the true damage
gonna start permabanning him le sigh
edit:
Here are a few reasons I've given over the years.
- Passive gives insane health and mana sustain. Just as bad as Nasus except also gives mana
- Q has a 1:1 AP ratio. Insane levels of damage combined with a knock-up that's really not difficult to land
- 2.5 second silence in a cone around the size of Annie's W. You get zoned off your minions and can't ever fight Cho'Gath 1v1 in lane. You just take a ton of damage and have to deal with it.
- His autos hit you through the minion lane for magic damage. Upon buying Rylai's, Cho'Gath can also slow with his autos and it also slows anything past you as well with the spikes.
- 650 + 70% AP scaling true damage nuke that goes off instantly that grants lots of health. Need I say more?

So, I think he's OP because he's impossible to trade against (and if you do, he'll just heal it all back by CSing). He also has amazing poke and catch potential (he's a god-tier follow-up initiator too, especially built as AP) and his true damage ult can one-shot ADCs if he builds AP. If he builds brusier, he can end their lives with W+R.
He's also extremely easy to play.
There are others, but let me stress:
His Q is easy to land. His lack of mobility is not a crutch and is the only thing keeping him from being nigh one of the best champions in the entire game He can build almost full tank and still one-shot people
Just a good read for people interested in knowing about balance and such.
