Advice on getting rank up from Bronze V.

Icewind11·3/20/2015, 3:55:57 AM·2 votes·1,613 views

I just finished my 10 out of 10 matches in ranked to get my placements. I tried my hardest and did pretty well. I won 6 out of 10. At the end, I was placed in bronze V , now I don't know if this is some kind of joke, but 6 out of 10 wins is pretty good for solo queue. So I'm guesing no matter how good I was I'de get placed in bronze V... Anyways, My last few games that were lost I had trolls that fed and admitted they did not care about winning... So im trapped in the bronze elo with players, who don't want to actually win or get better. What do I do, are there tips or anything? I tried jungeling, Vi, Shaco and Support / Top.. My Score alone cannot win a game, no matter how hard I try. I guess im screwd until next year.

Someone in my same game who won 1 game and lost 9 and fed to make me lose, was promoted to Bronze 3 , yet someone like me who tries and puts a lot more effort and actually won 6/10 gets put in V ? Is this broken or whats going on.

It's seeded from last year. I was mid gold last season and went something like 4/10 in placements due to being dumb enough to play the first week of the season... and was placed silver 3.

Play normals until you can carry.

Counter pick do not pick your best champ pick a counter. I just won 4 in a row in B5 I am up for my promo. If you do not understand all of the Champions, you need to learn them. The only way to kill and not be killed is know thy enemy.

Keep the game fun, rage does not win games it will be you downfall. It become 1v9, not 5v5, I have preached that for years, before I played ranked queue.

Be helpful, yet try not to offend. Help with peoples builds if they aren't building right. Help your team and yourself counter build.

If you can fill any position do it, you give someone a better chance at the one they main.

If you have a gg with someone it doesn't hurt to ask to duo the next.

I hate to say it but in ranked, you're going to have to carry if you want a guaranteed one-way ticket out of "elo hell." You know that half the people you get in soloqueue couldn't carry their ammo without dropping it on their foot, let alone carry the game. So, in other words, I advise picking up a champion, preferably someone that does well on mid or adc, and get good, get some practice in. Make sure you pick one that a lot of people say is "Viable" because they're probably right. Try not to pick characters that are banned constantly too; Katarina may be strong in soloqueue, but she's been banned in pretty much every game I've played in ranked thus far, so... probably not a good decision to have her be your go-to champion.

Trust me, I'm currently learning this lesson the hard way. I want to play Sion jungle, but Sion jungle doesn't deal enough damage to carry a game all by himself, and if you have a carry in bot and mid, neither of which can secure a kill... you have problems. So, until I can get to an elo where Sion is a thing, then I'll have to pick someone who can carry me up to silver. I personally picked Jinx because of her kit, so be sure to pick a champ that you can understand easily and that goes with your playstyle (e.g. if you like going all in, don't pick Ashe as an adc, and if you like having escape options don't play low-mobility champs like Fiora).

If you want suggestions for who to pick up I'm sure I could try to point you in the right direction :)

i had spectated some bronze v matches. maybe just learn more about this game ? i saw a vayne gave the point to w at lv1 and tryd/yi went line with a item 1051.

i was placed to low silver in 2 seasons, not too good.

EDIT:

yes, i am bad at adc, only play jinx/ez if forced to and never play vayne. if anything wrong, sorry. i cant really understand vayne w at lv1. maybe you want to farm, but your enemy will not.

I notice a lot of you telling me to carry, but that is not a option. Top lane is ALWAYS called first, by people who feed or are unskilled. It's ALWAYS picked first, if someone picks before me, they lock top. Or mid, and im usually last pick. So carryings out of option.

Main support, then proceed to pick a mage support and build sight stone then AP/Pen. I suggest Zyra or Brand. Harass from range constantly and in team fights you shred teams even with no items. Either you or the adc getting fed is good.

The rest will depend on your decision making, it's possible to solo carry in Bronze, especially Bronze 5.

First a couple of pointers. On placement you play with other players f your same mmr and then you move forward or downward depending if you win or lose. The first game decides by itself around 70% of what will be the higher ranked you will be placed, if you lose your first game chances are that you will be put in really low elo as the next matches will be much easier to you.

Second, don't counterpick unless you are really comfortable with the counter. I would suggest getting 5-6 champions and play them exclusively. I know is not always possible but playing at most 3 roles is also a good idea. You are trying to become really good with a few champions and roles instead of average with a broader number. If done correctly you will be able to to go against counters with relatively ease.

Third, if you are ahead, push objectives, if you are mid, take your tower and the roam top and take top tower. A single player can carry a team on mid game if he forces the game to end fast. If you are jungle, don't return to jungle as soon as you got a successful gank. As longs as it is safe push the lane and get a few hit on turrets, destroy it if possible. The outer turrets are actually what most gold give.

Fourth, if you are jungler forget about dragon until min 20-25 unless you plan to get all 5 dragons (which is almost impossible without team cooperation). The dragon buffs are almost unnoticeable until that point anyway and taking it early will set you back as a jungler for a whole level. keep it warded thou as a smite steal won't set you back as much.

Always push objectives. Dont chase kills, dont dives towers, dont try to cheese. Pick something youre good at not something someone suggested or whats OP this month(unless its normals, thats where you play to get good mechanically with the champion to become comfortable with). But always push objectives. Remember: towers dont respawn, champions do.

The goal is to destroy an objective not to kill champions. if you end the game 0/10/0 but you destroyed 6 towers, 2 inhibs and a nexus then your deaths didnt really amount to much for the enemy.

While counter picking would be a good idea, its best just to play something youre familiar with. Your mechanics wont be as good with a champion you played for the first time oppose to a champion youve been playing for a few weeks or months.

I went from gold 4 to plat 5 in about a week just spamming soraka with a bit of morgana. While i know soraka is a horrible pick into some situations, its better than me picking a champion im not familiar with and doing bad while not knowing what im doing. If i have a rough game with soraka, i still know my limits and how to come back.

But the most important rules are: -Push objectives -Dont over commit to anything -Well placed warding (dont go and ward your red while your team is pushing around their red, no important information is at your red) -Play what youre comfortable with

I went 4/10 and got bronze 1 currently in silver 5

Your placement was with only with bronze players.
