LP should be based on grade in ranked. So many times I have played with a god awful team and still pulled an S or A. I feel i shouldnt lose LP when I have a high grade or at least I should lose less.
Also, It is bologne that I lose LP when my teammate AFK"s or had a bad connection and lags to death. This is not my fault. It drags down the whole team and will likely cause a loss. It happens ALL THE TIME!!!! Riot I feel this makes moving up in ranked impossible.

You make a good point about people possibly sacrificing teamwork to ensure a better score. I would agree, it's not a foolproof idea. However, it's not an awful idea. Try to consider his thinking and provide constructive feedback...
If there were a way to somehow calculate a score based on how valuable of a teammate you were, on top of your score maybe, then why shouldn't the system penalize you less? For example, what if you get an A+, AND multiple honors by non duo teammates? That would essentially mean you did well, and you weren't practicing selfish tactics to raise your score.
At the very least, I agree with the OP. Losing the same amount of LP as other teammates who are clearly not trying their best, or are even trolling, doesn't make sense.

Your response doesn't discount what he's suggesting. You're saying the system's purpose is to allow better players to stay above worse players. Yeah, well, if you're a good player, in a losing team with bad players, and if you are deducted less LP than your teammates, that helps keep those worse players down, and help you to stay above them, as you are a better player. That would basically promote the purpose of the system, and the point you were trying to make...
sphinxthelion71 votesIt doesnt though. The match making system is designed to keep you at 50% win rate. So if you are starting to pull ahead it matches you with poor players to keep you in check. You can be a good player and still be stuck in a bracket below your skill because the match making system sticks you with the worst player over and over and you cant win on your own. All you can do is build pre mades. Solo queing is a nightmare that needs to be fixed, and this would solve that. So when support poppy is farming bot lane and we lose the team fight and the game and I pulled an S I dont lose my LP cause the match maker matched me with an idiot. Or when my team decides baron is a great idea with 2 inhibitors down, or when my mid feeds 5 kills in the first 6 minutes, I'm not punished for it. I cannot fix my horrible team that I am assigned! It is bologne that I suffer for their idiocy.
