So With New Rotating Game Mode - Can We Please Remove Snowball On ARAM Yet????

TLDR; One long rant about the crappies summoner spell to hit league!!!

I played ARAM a good two years before they decided to add snowball and one year after the snowball. I sill play it because I don't really want to play on the pressure of rift and I enjoy the faster pace. End of it all is, snowball cheapens the mode entirely. If I didn't enjoy league as much,I actually enjoyed Twisted Treeline, and/or I hadn't invested as much money as i have in skins; I'd quit entirely! Before you could count your chickens if a Galio missed his flash ult. Now its just,..wait till i hit someone.. jump in spam engage. Boom, your teams instantly down half their health....begin the fight everyone! A Jax used to be somewhat predictable and you could get at least a little damage on him before he got his jump-stun off. Now you can't. While there is ....a lil counterplay to the mechanic against idiots who follow up on every snowball, the truth is there isn't really any. The good/bad play is nearly entirely on the person sending out the mark. Like any good Le'Blanc on league, they should almost never go negative if they know what their doing. More often than not, this item opens up teams to extreme trolling when others just senselessly dive thinking, "I've got that kill and not taking 2 seconds to realize that trading their own life really isn't worth it." Tank teams utilize the spam-ability to jump in wreck your face...then back off and regen back up. The mode to me was always about using your team you had to try to work something out in builds to come up with a unique victory. Thanks, to snowball, that aspect is gone. You know its a bad mode when Sona can follow up snowball, Q, and flee without burnining flash and do 1.5k health with a Lichbane and a Luden's Echo. So much for playing any ADC, and you know actually helping your team win.

I should be playing any LoL Game Mode around a CHAMPION. I shouldn't be playing a game mode around a SUMMONER SPELLl. If I am, it belongs in a fun short term mode where those that don't want to deal with it can still enjoy a game. This is league of legends... not league of extraordinary snowballs. There's a reason flash exists. There's a reason its a 5 mintue cooldown. BALANCE!!! The point of flash being a 5 minute cooldown was because it was a kickass ability that let you do nearly all the cool stuff snowball does. But it gives the enemy team a little reprieve time after you've had your fun so they can actually enjoy the game and a little counterplay whether or not you miss your play while its down. There's a reason its a 5 minute cooldown. It's so in those lull's of OHHH SNAP YOU GOT ME WITH THE GALIO ULT... i can enjoy a slight reprieve in the game and know I'm not being trolled when you Galio ult me again 60 -120 seconds later in what should be 5 minutes.

In traditional ARAM, you had to work together as a team to make plays. Sometimes the entire team would have to plan their flash to win a fight and push forward to the turret. Now its nothing but a game of skirmishes. Or what's most likely feasible, one person jumps in cc's and its immediately followed up. Once it lands, that's it... there's no counterplay besides... can i move far enough back so I can not die...or at the very least can my team return a kill. I don't know how many games that's been stalled out simply due to snowball pressure.. or ult-based crowd control is just waiting to land a good snowball. Games that should have been won, but there's no actual way to enter their base when Galio can just Mark/Dash a minion and reck my team. There is no safety window. NONE! Can we really call it skill when an Amumu can dive my team and still have their full compliment of spells off cooldown to catch any would be fleers. Does he have to worry about landing a bad bandage. No!

Finally, What pisses me off even more, is they didn't ask anyone if they wanted this bullshit. They simply forced it on us. Those that enjoyed the game mode as it was... those that pleaded with them to upgrade it from a custom mode to an actual game mode. The day snowball came out we all received one big @#$% in the mouth. Could we choose to enter in specific queues with or without it. But no. The first week it came out, I tried it. I seriously played about 20-30 games on it the first week, I had played Poro King so I already had some frustrations by the time I was done with it. But PK was fun for the short term it was out. I played the mode easily knowing that there would be nearly unstoppable champions and I took the game mode light hearted as such. When the mode annoyed me, I switched back to real ARAM for a breath of fresh sanity.

After playing just the 20-30 games of "not-aram" I nearly tossed my keyboard into my monitor several occasions. I consider myself capable, knowledgeable, and I don't use abilities or run into a fight unless there's something to gain and/or there's something for my team to win from it. I have nearly 2000 ARAM games and have a positive win record from it...which says something good for a mode that deals with random champions, incompentent players, and working around unconventional builds to try and win the game as a team and not soak in 20 kills for just yourself.. In case your wondering, I have only one account with all but 3 champions..so no smurfing or dodging. I started this mode, as I didn't want to do SR with as competetive environment as it was, and I wanted an excuse for not being on top of my game until I learned how to play champions. I made a policy of taking the champion I was given, and to accept all trades, even if I didn't know the champion about the champion and figure out how to play both with/against it.

Anyways, I literally almost lost it when 10 games in a row I received an ADC champion with a reasonable ARAM comp. In each of those games the game was over and we lost before we reached the 2-3 item threshold. I literally couldn't get close enough to enjoy at least a wave of minions without worrying about dying. (That's 2 items and boots).

I could no longer do anything on any ADC and nearly every game I played an assassin or tank I roflstomped. (Many of those team compositions should have been fine, if the mode wasn't adulterated & bastardized as it was.) What made this frustrating even more was... I didn't have the safety net back up I had always had. It was either deal with it, or start playing summoner's rift...as such I've had to reluctantly deal with. But like Gregory House I see this is a constant pain in my leg when their's not enough vicodin to make it bearable, but I can't seem to get myself away from it. Thanks, riot for shoving a for fun game mode and overwriting it over my enjoyable mode that actually required some mechanical skill and teamwork.

So now the big question is riot what are you going to do about it? You've seen the flood of anti-snowball propaganda on your blogs for some time now and by no doubt lost a ton of ARAM players. I noticed since you didn't bring back URF this year, another disappointment, you mentioned bringing back a revolving game mode. This mode itself is supposed to include Legend of the Poro King as one of the mode. If this mode is coming out, can we please please please remove the cancer that is the summoner 32 (a.k.a. scuba steve...based on how much diving it enables) summoner spell and bring back Howling Abyss to its original glory... where it was fun. Where we could play champions. Where we could find a way to win as a team against sometimes interminable odds by actually working together and/or building unconventional builds. The dodge rate on ARAM has never been higher.

In the words of one of my favorite posts on the subject: The champs with high impact were given short arms for a reason, this removed that.

All those that agree please sign the discussion as my petition to have Riot remove the ban on enjoyment of real ARAM.

.... How long did it take you to type all that?

Snowball isn't the major problem it was on release. I do still think it does little for the champs/comps that actually need help while bolstering some champs that should be nerfed. However, Riot apparently disagrees and argues that Mark/Dash has helped more champs become viable..
