Quick Question on Jarvan's Q

So, uh, its kinda embarrassing to ask this as a Jarvan main all the way from season 3, but does anyone know whether the damage on Jarvan's q benefits from its own armor reduction? I know that all damage done afterward certainly does, but I've never actually known whether the q's damage is affected by it or not.
