Silver is damn near impossible to climb out of. I keep getting people that want to play Jhin or Ezreal and they're completely oblivious to the fact that they've been rendered useless. Riot needs to stop making these big changes it makes the game much less enjoyable for people in the bronze silver elo which is 80% of all players. Riot needs to take second to actually think about what they are doing.

Iron V Skills2 votesClimbing in low elo is very limited due to the fact that we aren't challenger or diamonds. We are low elo. Ranking up should be gradual and shouldn't be a "carry" in a "team game". You are saying he should stay in bronze because he can't "hard carry" every game. Ofc pro's get out because they are pros for a reason they are really good and you shouldn't have to be really really good to climb. Even if he plays good consistently if he has a team thats running it down it doesn't mean he belongs there. It means "hey you're doing good, but sorry your gonna stay here because you the rest of the team is bronze 5 skill, not you though just the rest of the team."

there is always meta changes. being good at the fundamentals of the game dont change. learning how to adapt and evolve with the game is part of the being good process
take TF BLADES this guy constantly starts a new account and goes to rank 1 over and over ... but its not his teammates holding him back, its not the meta etc.... he is just that much better at the game. faker, doublelift... name after name
if you are silver and cant get out of silver that is where you are suppose to be cuz youre not good enough to be higher
TrainerRobo2 votesIm not saying the meta has anything to do with it. What I'm saying is I play just fine against high silver and low gold players, and can easily hold my ground against them. I cant do much when the rest of my team in bronze is straight inting into their carries.

to climb you have to be better then what you are in, and you must play a consistent level over a number of games to win more then lose therefore rising /climbing til you dont ... that is your elo is where you no longer climb.
average player skill level is about silver 3 mmr. now skill level is a very vast and complex topic. there is all kinds of skill and knowledge and you may not have all of it together at once.
i know at my best if i was going back to grinding the game and playing serious ill be somewhere in mid to high gold. last time i ranked i had an account in gold and did placements on another and got silver 3. in games i play im against gold , plat and diamonds pretty regularly , i do hold my own vs them and there are times my inconsistencies come out and i look like a worst player.
this is the difference between low elo and high elo ... mechanical skills are typically in range of each other , its being consistent game in game out, trade in trade out, laning , rotations, item builds etc. that is why if you get better at fundamentals the meta changes dont mean anything.
this goes for pro play as well, ever wonder why the asian teams ( Chinese and Korean ) constantly do better at worlds then NA? well regardless of meta they are better fundamentally then the NA teams. and this is why they constantly win.

The majority of players do not climb, are you saying it's that difficult to improve? So difficult that its nearly impossible? Or, is it more likely that MMR is set up so that one cannot climb? The whole idea of being able to climb is a psychological trick meant to hook players.
The player base is not meant to climb, it is meant to stay silver and gold.

Elo boosters use 2 people and it still takes them around 70 hrs to go up 5 divisions. Coaching sites say on average it takes 3 months(which is about as long as it did for me to get out of silver this season).

Do not think its "always" existed, just this season. That has a lot to do with how low comeback potential is right now and how fast games are ending.
