Team Compositions In Ranked.
"It doesn't matter, this is only [Insert literally any elo outside of pro-play here]" "Don't worry, i'll carry" or "I'm playing Yasuo".
Whether it be no AD, no CC, or no frontline, I'm incredibly hard pressed to find myself in a match where my team has put any thought into champ select. I don't think there are many things more hopeless feeling then staring at a team with a yasuo, yi, vayne, and fiora, hovering over your last pick as support realizing you need a tank, AP damage, and knock up, knowing full well you've used both your dodges that day already. (galio support sucks)
Team composition almost always matters. A team that falls behind but has the tools to teamfight and scale can hold on and swing around a victory, especially in the lower elo's where it supposedly doesn't matter. If you've got a solid composition and can hold on, you can fight it out, reach late game, and out teamfight your opponent. Will this always be the case? of course not, but why deny yourself the tools just because they aren't auto-win?
If your team has enough crowd control, it doesn't matter how fed the enemy carry is. You can stun-lock them into oblivion. If you have no crowd control at all, that fed enemy carry isn't going to be able to be shut down in most cases.
If your team has a solid frontline, with mixed damages, you can negate the item advantages of the enemy by forcing them to build for multiple people. If you have no tanks, the enemy ADC needs no armor pen and can build full crit and AD, meaning he one shots your squishies. No front-line means nothing to absorb damage for your carries. No AP damage means that even enemy bruisers are going to function like full tanks because they'll be able to stack one or two armor items and be nearly unkillable.
If you don't have any waveclear in your comp, you're not going to be able to crack the enemy base open, and they will get to scale and come back. If your champs don't have any teamfight synergy or aoe damage, the enemy team will be able to freely force teamfights, objectives, and eventually your base.
There is a reason pro teams have coaches specifically for the draft phase. A better team comp, and a better executed team comp, can mean huge differences even among the best of players. So it boggles my mind that people will fight against this concept.
Saying team composition doesn't matter is just like saying warding doesn't matter, or kiting, or landing skillshots. It's a crucial part of the game and a basic concept that every player should at least attempt to understand.
