trouble playing riven

So I really have been wanting to main Riven because i think she's really fun. My problem is that i notice she has very low armor so minions hurt, lmao and also the problem that it's hard for me to farm when top laners are aggressive, and it's also really hard to farm when they're right next to my minions. any advice please?

Play safe till 3, dont go in too hard unless the enemy made a mistake. Let the wave push in to you if possible, they have to fight on your terms. Dont spam q, use it as conservative as possible.
