I get real aggravated by people who think that flex is just norms. I am gold in solo/duo and it would be great if i can get there in flex as well. Am i missing something here or are people just trolls when it comes to flex?

You shouldn't even have any problems climbing considering this is how most people treat it, and you're not playing vs solo queue Plats/Diamonds+ in your games since those players should all be in flex diamond+ by now.

I'm plat 4 in flex, I've seen full diamond/plat games since I was low gold in flex like this game at gold 3 ( https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/299020395649040384/609403919738601475/unknown.png ) and as a result, the competitive quality of flex is about the same as it is in normals.
I play flex to play against better players than I get in normals when I'm learning champions or trying builds and such. It doesn't have much value beyond that.

They also grade off Solo/Duo Titles to judge how "Fair" a flex match is. Look at how many people whine about X rank in their Normal games and OMG WTF RITO!
The concept of independent rating by que type Is just lost on some people sadly.
