A idea for Champ Select
I posted about this idea a couple days ago and it was not received well for 2 reasons, my wording on the post and the fact that people don't actually read the entire post. So lets try again.
Here is an idea that may or may not have been brought up.
After getting into a game lobby and having all champs selected, it occurred to me that the support on my team had smite. Being the ADC, I kindly asked him to switch to exhaust, he did not. The support also did not say a single word during Champ Select and during the game. When the game started he immediately went to counter jungle; there is no problem with this as long as the support comes back to lane. He continued jungling leaving me 1v2 bottom lane and taking jungle camps from our actual jungle for the ENTIRE (I have to specify ENTIRE because people accused me of being a salty ADC who threw a tantrum any time the support left) laning phase and game. Now, we did win the game and the "support" did in fact play very well because of the champ he was playing, however, 9/10 times this is not the case and even if every support goes Ivern, the champ this "support" played, you are not guaranteed to have as good a game.
My idea is that depending on which role you are given in lobby, you should only be allowed to pick from certain summoner spells, meaning, an ADC should not have the opportunity to pick smite or any other summoner spell that is deemed pointless in that role. The same goes for support. There are other spells for a support that can be used well such as ignite, but is smite really at all beneficial to a support?
The concern brought to mind now is well, how do we effectively trade champions now during champion select? Just like how you can trade champions, you will be able to trade roles as well so you are able pick your desired summoner spell.
This idea is so teams are not stuck with a troll support or someone who really wanted to jungle but was not given that role but instalocks jungle anyway.
Thoughts?
P.S. If anyone says I am being salty and crying too hard; I guarantee that you would be in a rage if stuck with a troll of any kind. No one wants to log on and be playing with a troll in any game type.
