I would lose more lp as I ranked up and it would reset my level to bronze 5 so I went in and out of bronze 4 I think that a consistent amount of lp lost and gained meaning that the lp lost and gained would be the same. It would be better that way. Idk if this is something anybody else encounters but i'm just speaking my mind.
Nik Nikerson2 votesIt's your MMR. When you lose to players with lower MMR you lose more LP, and you get less LP for beating players with a lower MMR. The inverse is true for beating/losing to players with a higher MMR.

bobyboucher1 votesBasically what the system is saying is your game play is indicating you should not be at the level you are so you loose more than you gain as it is trying to bring your rank down to the level your playing at. Inverse if you play really well in a rank over and over you will start to get more LP (+28 etc) as they system tries to get you out of the rank and into one where the players are on the same level. When you gain 20 and loose 20 the system is basically saying this is where you belong.

I'm running into the same issue between bronze 5 and 4. Its because there is a big gap in MMR between the two. The addition of iron will help. By dividing the low elo from 5 levels to 8, the gap between ranks will be smaller.
lilpokfluf1 votesThe issue they're having won't change much. They don't really account for your rank when you queue into a game it's based off your mmr. Unless they're planning on changing the mmr system you'll be matched up with the exact same group of people you currently play against.
I've been in bronze 5, The real issue I think is how long the system takes to normalize your mmr. The current rankings system doesn't reward you for being good at the game or making plays. It rewards you for being consistent and if you can't be consistent you'll always be stuck.
In my opinion they should really look into giving players with small win streaks chances to normalize their mmr a little bit quicker than it currently does.

You are right that rank doesn't affect how you are matched. Rank does, however, affect your LP changes. After a game the system compares your mmr to the average for your rank and adusts.
Let's say the average mmr for bronze 5 is 700 and the average for bronze 4 is 900. If my mmr is at 800 when I win as a bronze 5, it sees I'm better than average and I gain 22. The same mmr at bronze 4 says I'm below average so I only gain 15. This happens because the gap is so big between the two. With more low elo divisions, we might have iron 4 at 700 and iron 3 at 800. In this case 800 mmr at iron 4 will gain 22 still, but at iron 3 it will gain 20 because I'm at average instead of below.
