Can we stop with the all the slows, please?

FancyKiwi··31 votes·2,737 views

Ekko has a slow that helps him apply another slow. Ashe has a perma slow that crits every auto. Kalista as a slow that also nukes. Azir has a slow that also hits like a train. Gnar has a slow that has basically no cooldown if he catches it. Can we have someone that does not a a slow with no cooldown or one so short that it might as well not have one?

Ashe has a perma slow that crits every auto.

Why are you acting like Ashe having a permaslow is a new thing? It's one of the oldest things in the game. She also pays for her damage/CC with low mobility, just like she always has. Really shouldn't be on this list IMO, since unlike the others she has large weaknesses as a trade off for her strengths.

Just to play Devil's Advocate Rek'sai was released recently and has 0 slows. Infact Rek's CC is bellow average for her class.

It's not hat Ashe has a slow that I care about as she has always had it. It's the fact that you are now perma slowed for free and also getting crit every auto.

The 'crit' only actually increases your overall DPS by 10%, since it deals way less damage than a true crit. Do you know what else increases your DPS by 10% against a CC'd target? Talon's passive that everyone thinks is trash. Not saying Ashe's passive is bad, it obviously has the slow component too but it's really not a huge damage bump.

As for the "for free" part it's only down from 4 mana per second for a good Ashe, since you'd only toggle it on once every 2 attacks with over 1.3ish AS and once every 3 with 1.8ish.

To put that in perspective Ashe regens almost 3 mana a second at level 18.

Hypochondria91 votes

Ashe's passive scales so it's 10% for a small portion of the game, unlike talon's.

LankPants10 votes

It's 10% all game, only the slow scales.

The damage scales with crit, but it's still only 10% higher than average DPS.

Talon's DPS also scales up the same if you buy crit on him, it's actually slightly better because it's multiplicative in his case.

biomaster1 votes

no it actually scales with crit. What this means is that the crit multiplier will actually scale with more crit you get. I dont know the exact numbers but for example's sake if i got phantom dancer thats 30% crit so my multiplier is now 40% instead of 10%

LankPants1 votes

If you buy a Phantom Dancer on any other champion bar Yasou it increases your average auto damage by 30%. This is the same amount Ashe gets by buying a PD.

biomaster1 votes

doesnt that increase the chance to crit not the actual. I thought the standard crit multiplier was 200% with holding yas ashe and infin edge

LankPants1 votes

PD's actually 35%, but anyway.

with no PD you have 0% chance to deal 200% bonus damage, therefore your average auto damage is 100%

with PD you have a 35% chance to deal 200% bonus damage or a 65% chance to deal normal 0.35x2+0.65x1=1.35, which is your long term average crit damage.

All Ashe's passive does is work out that damage number and use it as a multiplier, adding 10%.

junglerboy161 votes

Wrong. The 10% bonus damage she has is completely separate from any of the crit multipliers she gains. The equation works like this: (100% AD x 1.1) + (100% AD x (crit chance x 1+crit damage multiplier)).

If you bought a Phantom dancer which has 35% crit chance, it would increase her crits from 110% crit damage to 145%, but if you had an IE instead it would go from 110% to 140%, where having both IE and PD brings you from 110% up to a whopping 192.5%, instead of just 175% like your math would have it.

biomaster1 votes

like i said i didn't know the actual numbers, i wasn't claiming those were.

item 3140 ? Tenacity is also great.

If you're up against a team or strong opponent with a lot of CC you can build for that.

OyddAWqJ5r2 votes

item 3009 Though I could never really tell if reducing the potency of the slow is better than reducing the duration item 3111

Partholonian2 votes

If there were more other tenacity items worth building, you could do both at once. There's Zephyr (hardly ever built except, ironically, as a boot replacement, because it invests too much in mobility at the expense of damage per gold/item slot) and... Moonflair, which you can't even build on SR.

Well, the River King Q's has a slow, confirmed by his main designer, so you might not like that.

We have literally gone from bitching about knock-ups (AND ASKING FOR MORE SLOWS), to bitching about slows.

Gameplay and Balance boards my friends. Avoid at all costs.

Watching G&B is like watching CF and ID in the old forums. Complaints rotate in cycles.

Sona Ping2 votes

The word choice changes, but the core issue is the same. Excessive amounts of CC on a single champion.

JustMyBassCannon2 votes

Because, apparently, having CC is excessive.

The guy named like three champions that are problems for reasons other than CC, and Ashe, who has always had her perma-slow.

Sona Ping2 votes

I was talking about more people than just the OP

{quoted}

Because, apparently, having CC is excessive.

For champions that are supposed to be designed as Assassins and Marksman (i.e. Echo and Kalista), I am inclined to agree that having good CC, much less multiple forms of CC, is excessive for them. Though yes, they do have problems other than their CC, however.

Mecha MaIphite2 votes

Hard CC counters mobility, which is also something people were complaining about.

Sona Ping1 votes

But it's hard CC on the wrong kind of champions, that's the problem. It's a problem that creates worse problems, and that's not even getting into the fact that the champions in question are mobile as well!

Silents4292 votes

So. Are we going back to not giving people tools to combat mobility?

Guy Fox Teemo1 votes

Well if champions dont get CC, they get mobility, do you want to go back to the days of assassins? Where everyones a ninja and can't be touched.

Thats not how it works.

Champions get CC and mobility. And burst, survivability, other utility, sustained damage, and of course a reset button.
