Riot, why not making a little experiment and let us the Karma mains come up with a few tweaks?

Hey there,

Again Riot is nerfing Karma and I think its the wrong way to do. Instead of nerfing her, tweaks would solve so many Problems Karma has right now. Especially when those tweaks are suggested by the main Player Base of Karma -

#Why not making a little experiment and let us the Karma mains come up with a few tweaks, that will be tested and pushed to live if they seem worthy?

Those tweaks are not meant to replace a rework or anything, just more like a little bandage until Karma gets a proper rework. Give us like 1 Month time to come up with tweaks (not a rework) that will put Karma in a better spot - identity, nice, gameplay and/or gamehealth wise.

It would definetely be appreciated and after all this lacking communication and discussion between you Riot and us it seems the right way to go. I think it would be a great experience for both sides!

Are you with me Karma mains and diehards?

Riot, will you give this experiment a chance?

That sounds like a perfectly reasonable idea, since Riot has completely lost their way with Karma. I had a look on Karma's wiki earlier just to see if there was something about her design I wasn't quite getting, and I found this:

What did we like about Karma? Despite all the Mantra hate we've got going on, we actually think the concept is pretty kickass. It's unique and character-defining to old Karma, and augmenting her abilities with an immense surge of Ionian will is visually and thematically fun. We also liked how Karma could turn the tables on her opponents with abilities that provided defensive bonuses and had hidden offensive power.

We liked that too... so why take it away? :/

Karma's new role Originally envisioned as a support, Karma's fringe successes actually came from players using her in the top or mid lanes as an AP burst mage with support abilities, much like Zilean or Morgana.** We like this direction and want to encourage you to boost both her offensive and support abilities by building AP.** We also want to make sure she can hold her own as a solo or with a lane partner.

We like this direction too, so why does she have tank scaling on her RW? Perhaps a flat heal with a smaller missing hp component might help to discourage tank Karma

I swore to myself to be honest. Always. Even when it's not easy. So, I will be to you. Especially because I like you.

See look, Riot is a company. They got people coming in everyday doing their work, going home. A day only has so many hours, so does a workday. It's in Riots best interest, to fill those hours as efficiently as possible. I consider most of Riot's employees to be passionate about the game, so it's not only a company thing, but also out of principle. They wanna spend as much time as possible doing things that actually help their baby grow.

If you have ever spent 7+ years of your life doing something, or working on something, you might relate. You develop a certain kind of love, even for inanimate objects. Just because they are yours.

And here is the hard part; some things are more important for the game than others, Even if they care for every single bit and piece in there, they can't care for all of them equally. There will always be trouble children. There will always be parts that go smooth and need less attention. Riot tries to identitfy them and spend time accordingly.

And as any fan in the boards will assure you; there is a lot to do. A lot to fix. A lot to create. Problems to solve, to discuss, to test. And they try to get the best people for this. But we are not. We are not designers. We have barely any more understanding of game design, than some of us got from reading blogs. We don't understand the full impact most changes we could suggest would have, simply because we don't work there. Yes, I made a very successful rework suggestion once, but only because I learned what the people liked and wanted to hear, not because I knew what would work. I hope it would, but I don't know.

We are not good enough. We are not important enough. We can not provide enough useful stuff to Riot to do this. Yes, we are a vessel of collected Karma opinions. Yes, we are the passion that would drive the opinion collection of Riot to incredible lengths, once they come to us, to ask us for our opinions and ideas about Karma, because they finally wanna work on her.

But apart from that, apart from showing them how we feel, how we experience her and what we hope for, what we find important and what we would love to have removed, we can't provide much. Personally, I would love to work with Riot on Karma. I would sacrifice so much for it. Really. But, as I said:

I swore to myself to be honest. Always. Also to myself. I can't see this happening. Even though I wished it would.

Sorry.

Maybe let R+W snare when you push W again, it ends her W, and snares for half the normal and bonus duration.

Maybe change her healing from a “double 20% (1ap ratio) missing HP” to a “5% missing hp (0.5 ap ratio) + 20/40/60/80/100 hp heal per tick (0.4ap ratio)” heal.

Maybe bring back pre-patch 5.10 W/R+W.

Possibly revert everything done to her E before the 6.6 buff patch . The 6.6 patch buff wasn't needed, especially when all the other shield supports recieved huge nerfs. Also keep the R+E movement speed nerf, that was bound to happen at some point.

I do not think it is best to do that. The Karma rework was accidentally leaked four years ago, which prompted the community to pressure them to change things on her. The community should not have the power to dictate how a champion should function. Riot knows what her problems are and they know what they need to do. I think they just need to start doing something and communicate better. Current Karma is largely the fault of Riot, but I do blame the community somewhat.
