Idea for April Fools Day: Splash Arts are exchanged by a respective MS Paint art

Hi there,

I just had a rather... crazy Idea: How about we swap the Splash Arts of all Champions (and Skins) with some glorious and fantastic MS Paints Versions? I know there isnt that much time left over to organize this but... still^^

Said MS Paints could either come from the Community (RP Arts you could see in a Gallery made by Riot for example) and/or Rioter draw (their favorite) Champion/Skin in MS Paint. Those could be colored, with some deatils or just "plain" stick figures with a bit of color.

Just Imagine how funny, I mean how amazing that would look like in Loading Screen!

I love it. Probably too much effort for an April Fool's day joke, though.

I wonder if all the original splashes are lingering in the resources somewhere? If so, they could revert to those for a day.

I don't really have an opinion here, but PokemonShowdown does this on april fools. For the day, they replace the usual sprites of pokemon with really, really shitty MS paint pictures/keks. http://play.pokemonshowdown.com/sprites/afd/ I'm surprised that nobody mentioned this, I guess there aren't that many pokemon players in this community.

This would have been awesome, but since it's been suggested and warmly received it doesn't really constitute much of April Fools joke.

OH MY GOD I WOULD LOVE IT

... but i know it will be most probably impossibile due to little problems summing on each other. It would mean that riot has to change every splash art with another, a probably trivial thing that can get mastodontical when accounting all the skins. Even considering champions only it would be really cumbersome.

Also the need to redownload and patch all said splash arts and the putting them back in. I don' t know the exact tech details, but remember that they can' t even afford to change tooltips after an hotfix, due to the different clients having to sync with that work.

Plus people complaining about having to play with a shitty splash art when they spent a lot of cash in skins, or just being pissed because they find it not serious enough.

But hey, a man can dream.

Sounds fun, but it also sounds like a pain in the ass for the art team.

They will have to either find or make a MS Paint splash art for every skin in existence.

There are 801 splash arts (not taking shared splashes into account) that they would have to do.

Assuming an average of 5 minutes for each drawing (Includes cropping them for loading screen/champion icon), that is 66 hours and 45 minutes of scribbling in MS Paint. (Could be doubled if they put time and effort into making them derpy)

Yeah, it would be hilarious, but I would rather have new splash arts for Warwick, Rammus, and Xin Zhao.

It would be hilarious to see sub-par splash art as a joke. But knowing how artists are, they can't degenerate their skill and make some epic pixel art instead.

So away with Riot's artists, bring in the 10 years-old kids with their 1337 MSPaint skills.
