lol whoops. My train of thought got ahead of my posting. What I meant was that Braum takes no damage, and in a larger context, both of them can cancel other ults with relatively low-cooldown abilities. Why are we only complaining about Fizz?

I don't complain about Fizz because he's OP (he's not). I can't remember the last time I lost to a Fizz, if you have a decent match-up (or even sometimes if you don't since some Fizz players have low EQ; I've won a lot of match-ups I should have no business winning) he isn't too much trouble to deal with in lane. I complain about Fizz because he's generally just annoying to play against (it sucks a lot of resources to just go about dealing with Fizz as oppose to playing the game how you want to; it's fairly true for most assassins but I think Fizz is especially problematic) and I think his kit has a lot of issues that other champions don't.

I don't see Riot really nerfing/reworking Fizz anytime soon; they seem recently to be more inclined to push champion design rather than bring champions to some stat-centric medium (ie. give more room for outplays rather than slower, more methodical play of incremental advantages). For me though, I'm still probably permabanning Fizz while my champion pool is in disarray.

honestly, playing as fizz isn't as easy as it might seem. early in the landing phase, you can't just go spamming you E all day, as it eats 100 mana almost every time, and his mama pool is quite shallow too.

when I play fizz, I get easily harassed and/or zoned quite hard just trying cs, and trying to harass them with a QE combo leaves me eating a ton of their dmg if I don't use my E as an escape (most fizz max E first, thus really try to use it as their main source of burst)

I don't play fizz, but even at my 5th match vs all these hated assasins I figured out how to deny their minions and poke them to hell.

and that's the trick really, just deny them farm and stay far enough back that they can't all in you safely, and they can't do jack unless they get help.

Just don't ult him when he has literally all his spells; you should do that with every burst assassin anyway. It's a really stupid interaction though, should act a little like Cait's in terms of cancelling.

He can do that every ~7 seconds late game though. The window of vulnerability is small.

7 seconds is a long time. Just wait until you see him use E/zhonyas first and then ult. Zhonyas is also on a long CD. It's not that hard.

I don't get why people try to trade or all-in when their opponent has their CD's up. Just be patient, wait until they use it first. Pick your spots.

Now a good Fizz player will try to hold onto their moves until they absolutely need it, but they'll have to attack sooner or later. You have to be more patient than them.

During team fights, if you're doing the pre-engage dance, you should always be able to see when he does his E. It's not that hard. Pick your spots.

I feel like everyone who complains just has a trigger finger and doesn't have the patience to wait for Fizz to use E first.

This. Anybody who thinks Fizz is OP simply doesn't respect the champion. He's a mobile assassin. If you focus him while his mobility is up, don't whinge and whine when he dodges everything. If you leave your squishies exposed in the process of blowing all of your CDs on him, don't whinge and whine when you lose that fight. If you roam with no vision on Fizz, don't whinge and whine when he's sitting in the nearest brush.

Murphy's Law - anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. Literally all you can do is try to reduce the odds of it happening.

Here is a good comparison, Azir 's ult lets him block just about anyone, but you can get through if you have some kind of flash or you have something like Malphite 's ult... Fizz 's troll poll can let you just hop to safety with no counter... it's like a mini item 3157 that damages you after he exits it. silence would do great against it... if riot wasn't on a mass silence removal campaign that is bound to reach Fiddlesticks Blitzcrank and Garen eventually.

Imo Talon , and Leblanc totally lost most of their carry ability because of the loss of their silence. I mean honestly why would you have a skill called "Cutthroat" ( Talon ) and the skill not silence... LOL! The logic is impeccable.

It kinda is. Talon and LB with silence was stupid. It basically gave you no counterplay while you got bursted. The only solution against a good LB or Talon was being either insanely passive (and then dying most of the time anyway), trying to outscale them (lol that doesn't work very well either), or just switching lanes and running straight into the 3/0/2 Jax with two items already. So it was a pretty bad situation for any squishy mid. While I don't know about LeBlanc, Talon can still carry pretty hard. Not as hard, but I think that's a good thing for the game. For everyone except Cho'gath mains, because Cho was tanky enough to not get bursted, had enough sustain to endure the poke, and had the damage to kill them. It was great.

I play Vi a lot, and she is one of my favorite champions, but this really just doesn't bother me. Anyone with a high impact spell has this potential when dealing with Fizz, but honestly, I've never found it that hard to get him to playful BEFORE ulting in on him.

I think the only problem with Fizz is just HOW OFTEN he can troll pole, if it had a slightly longer cooldown then people wouldn't be complaining about it. Seeing Fizz dodge every form of CC, and burst down anyone every 5 seconds is incredibly sad to watch.

It's already long at low ranks, and if you level it up it costs 130 mana on a champ that doesn't have a large mana pool. Use it twice and you are oom. Late game it is literally the only way he can function without suiciding everytime he goes for a kill. Other assassins have their tools for surviving like Zed and leblanc who can just go back to where they started by pushing a button.

I don't understand why the recent nerf fizz posts have been coming up all the time. He didn't get all this attention before and he really has not changed.

Know your counters?

I know ARAM is irrelevant and I'm no pro, but in a recent ARAM I completely shut down Fizz using Veigar. I killed him 8 times and he ended up 4/12. There was nothing he could do against Veigar's insta-kill ult.
