To those complaining about the ap item changes.

TLDR: Remember this is still in testing so no need to freak out about it at the moment, riot will probably buff what is weak and nerf what is strong in the future.

Anyway what im guessing what riot is trying to do is release some ideas for ap items so while they seem weak at the moment they will probably be buffed (or nerfed if they are actually strong) at a later date. Talking about the removal of spell vamp lets be honest who bought it with a couple of champion exceptions and even so the Hextech Gunblade still exists so its not entirely gone. The new items their introducing and the changes to the revolver I love, I love how the Hextech revolver lets mages add autos to their spell rotation and could probably help a champion like Ziggs out. The Hextech Rocket Belt has a cool concept for an item potentially being an alternative or even a supporting dash for summoner 4 even if it cant go over walls and the bonus damage it does is a nice touch. The Zhonya's Hourglass changes while lets be honest is a nerf for the item at the moment can potentially make the item better in the future once they decide its weaker they might decide to buff it in the future. also making it cost less means you can rush it faster against ad matchups. The Rod of Ages changes seem like a major buff to mages to me, sure it hurts their lategame a bit but by making it 500 gold cheaper it should be easier to rush and could be a staple on most mages even if you fall behind. Most people bought Athene's Unholy Grail or Morellonomicon for its mana regeneration passive and while they have been changed some people complain about how the changes to athene's makes it a more supportive item and yea it is, however the mana regeneration is still on the item and it costing a lot less means you can get to your core ap items faster so even if you cant make use of its new passive it is still worth buying on champs that bought it beforehand do to it keeping its mana regeneration. As for Morellonomicon while it lost its mana regeneration it still gives flat mana and could be a decent on champs with mild mana costs and grevious is always nice. And finally many ap champions are being buffed to fit with the item changes and so even if the items are weaker the champions themselves are stronger so it can balance itself out. Anyway thanks for listening and while im not 100% sure what they have planned for these changes im still looking foward to them and especially to that Hextech Rocket Belt, just seems like a cool ap item.

I won't hold my breath they've never been kind to my mage champs before Cass's rework screwed her over and now they're fiddling with Velkoz and Malzhar as well. I don't want to have to find new mains or main an entirely new class till they fix whatever mess will come of this.

The thing I'm curious about is the champion changes. As the AP item changes are going to be based around that.

It could very well be that the itemization is nerfed, and yet leave mages in a better spot than they did before. (I.E. mages may become more specked to scale with the maximum mana that riot is pushing as the offensive option.)

So I probably wouldn't judge the item changes until I can see them along with the mage update.

What is going on, anyway? I keep seeing people flipping out over spellvamp and mana regen, but can't find the news causing said flipping out.
