sooo smite mid morde

been playing morde smite for forever, since when around spectral wraith was around. Once they took it out it was insanely gimped, but i still played it cus i have never been a fan of ignite. I feel the small amount of damage just isn't worth it in comparison to what smite allowed me to do. Sure, lost kills ALL the time, especially those lvl 6 kills where the ult is outhealed by a potion (fuk you rito). Probably was worse than ignite, but didn't care.

Anyway, with runeglaive, i finally feel it actually might be viable and not a "wtf are you doing with smite morde?" type of pick.

At first, i was against getting runeglaive, because well... Idk. Just didn't want to get it. I really liked magus. Finally tried it out and my god. Was getting decimated in my lane vs a nasus. Was like 1/5. As soon as i got runeglaive and a little more ap, was able to 2v1 him+the jungler (jungler was fairly fed too at this point. Got pretty fed ganking hue.)

Anyway... Has anyone else tried morde with runeglaive and have any input?

Pls don't say "bruh this is absolute horse shit you bad son" without actually trying it. Believe it or not, i got some people to give smite morde a whirl back in S3 and actually got a believer or two out of it.

Smite morde had more going for it in season 3 with Spectral Wraith than it does with Runeglaive. Spectral Wraith had 20% spell vamp and 10% CDR, both strong stats on Morde. It also allowed him to farm jungle camps a lot more quickly with his skills alone.

Runeglaive has the CDR but not the spell vamp. Without spell vamp, it's hard to justify getting it on Morde over other items such as WotA and Luden's Echo.

it's hard to say tbh which one had more going for it.

Spectral wraith had a more... idk how to phrase this but the healing was consistently better off of smite. Keep in mind the machete upgrades are like a 15% spellvamp when smiting monsters, so not much is lost (when smiting monsters).

In terms of raw power being added, runeglaive is 100% adding more power. With blasting smite, hitting wraiths/wolves or a few minions in lane results in almost a full heal once I get my wota+gunblade. I choose to get both to further emphasize this strategy.
