What's with the global announcements lately?

I mean, between Sion's charge, Rek'Sai's rush, and Kalista's "THE CONTRACT IS ACCEPTED" like she's some Shadow Isles lawyer, game's starting to get loud.

You think they would've learned after the Sad Robot fiasco.

I kinda think Kalista's is probably a bug, on the other hand, its only once a match, so does it really matter?

The other two are to announce the activation of the global/semi-global ults. Same way you see the eye when TF ults and Panth's circle appears before he lands.

Yes but you don't hear Pantheon shout "MANDROP INCOMING"

There's no reason for Rek'Sai's Ult to announce that she's dashing to a tunnel. The whole point of it is to be sneaky. How can you be sneaky if you should "HEY I'M BEING SNEAKY!" every time you sneak?

Global ults typically have some warning...

Ziggs and Pantheon tell you where they're landing. Karthus makes everyone have a pillar of light. Xerath's range is globally visible. Nocturne makes your screen black. TF lets you know he's watching. Global sounds are just a new tech. They're just making use of it because it's new and it works in these cases.

Yes but they SHOW you where, they don't play the sound to everybody regardless of their position on the map, just the people who'd be reasonably effected by it.

Plus, Rek'Sai's ult is all about being sneaky and quickly repositioning to take advantage of a gap in the opponents defenses. Announcing that you're doing that is antithetical to the intent of the ability.
