So my buddy just placed diamond three in his promotions and i was like wtfreak. . . . ..

How does this happen? I thought even high mmr challengers get placed in p1 ? ? ? Lit no joke he showed my proof and I am bbbbbbbbbbeeeeeeeewwwwwwwiiiiillllllllddddddddeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrreeeeeeedddddd

In 5s or 3s? Solo q you can't place higher than p1... in 3s you use to be able tomplace diamond, not sure if that was ever changed.

I thought so too. Riot did mention 2 weeks back that they accidentally rolled in elements of the new ranked system planned for next season into normal draft and that was causing all of the matchmaking problems there. Maybe that also applies to ranked placement since they are redefining diamond next season.
