Dynamic Queue is awesome!
Legitimately speaking Dynamic Queue is probably one the best things hands down that has happened to ranked since the game's release initially. As said in the video toxicity has lowered exponentially.
What's enjoyable about this system is
-
people get their desired roles quite often
-
people get to play with their friends (2-5 mans)
Whats incredible is the amount of argueing and champ select dodging have gone down soo much. It isn't a champ select full of 3 junglers who want jg and no one wants support. So 2 players troll or feed. Its like 4 out of 5 players get their role now. Albeit some fill their secondary. So in soloq 5v5, that 1 guy who mains ADC and winds up getting support blitz and going 1/19 in high platinum can(with a little disdain from teammates) be rest assured he will be carried(hopefully) by 4 other team members who all probably got their desired roles/champions.
This system is far more forgiving in the idea that, if say one out of five players don't get their role or champion they can(at least in higher elos) expect to be carried. Since the 4 players have a high knowledge of their role/champion. Opposed to 5 random players who all were argueing about who gets what role. Who didn't get what role, and hope for the best when the game begins.
Games are far more smooth in terms of individual skill level. I see players really putting in a lot of work when it comes to ranked. I/we as a community really see individual players shining, since they probably got their role/champion. So say its 4 players who got this. Opposed to old style soloq. Where maybe 2 out of 5 got their desired role/champion. Which is stressful knowing its up to you to carry 3 other players who frankly don't even play their role/champion they were forced to because of old style soloq. Now things go smoother, waiting in load screen and seeing on lolskill or opgg live game that about 8/10 players are playing what they actually know.
The downsides to this system
-
can be wait times
-
soloqueueing vs premade/coordinated 2-5 mans
In my own experience and opinion, the positives outweigh the negatives vastly!!! Queue times for my elo is around 3-5 minutes. Which is well worth the wait, since I know I'm getting placed with good teammates and going to be facing skillful opponents who also got good teammates knowledgeable of their role/champion. Secondly, it can feel a bit discouraging to know your whole team is soloq players vs a premade coordinated 2-5 mans groups. But, it feels incredible when you come out victorious.
In the end the only major problems I see with this dynamic queue is for top tier players and their wait times. Other than the 5 man LCS players queueing up together in high master/challenger level or the 5 challenger soloq players waiting for a team where everyone basically get their two best roles.
For everyone else(bronze-diamond?) It seems like Riot hit the nail good with ranked. I've enjoyed ranked a lot more than I have ever before. I used to be so stressed out going into champ select with thoughts of "I hope we have a decent jg, I hope our support wards and peels, hopefully we actually have an ADC and am I mid?" Now I go into ranked basically stress free. Because whatever the outcome I basically know my team will be legit. Even if we lose, I know we all tried and a majority of us got our role/champion we wanted to play initially. Opposed to a team of players all playing roles/champions they aren't even comfortable or knowledgeable of.
