League and community
Hello.
I've been a gamer for many years and i have played a lot of online multiplayer games. Started playing LoL mid season 1. Back then League was very fun to play. Low toxicity, you could play whatever you wanted, build anything etc and no one gave a shit. It was a game you enjoyed to play.
On January i started playing again an mmorpg i used to play a few years ago and its a game with a very big community. Let me tell you, this game has a lot of bugs, a lot of shitty/annoying things, rng seems to take favors and has overall a fair share of problems. More so than any problems you might think league has.
So here is the huge difference. Community. Its a big part of what makes a game fun. In said game the vast majority are friendly, relaxed people playing for the fun. There are toxic people (cant avoid those) but they are a very small minority and in most cases they are put aside by other players. While an mmorpg, team based content is a very big part and guilds are a factor on what you are able to do in the game and how strong you can become. For example, for many months, to get the best weapons, you could only craft them if you were a part of a guild or buy them from others players for a lot of in-game cash, plus guilds also have power-ups for their members. And toxic people most often than not dont survive in guilds. And the big amount of friendly people along with the extremely low amount of toxic ones, contributes a lot to the fun you are having. But League... League is different. In every single game ive played in the past months there is at-least 1 flamer that ruins the game. The amount of toxic people here is huge. And it takes all the fun away. Not even saying that if you try to play/build anything that is off-meta you will get so much flame, even in normals or aram.
My point in this post. Every game has bugs, problems, balance issues etc. But what really ruins a game is its community. I stopped having fun playing league because of the toxic community a long time ago. I still play some games now and then and every time i do im on the verge of getting cancer.
