So are champion shards going to get us mastery or not?

I currently have all champs but Sol, and I just got a Vi shard, which is a champ I would really want to boost to 7. Or I could reroll it into a "random" champ (I suspect my random champ will be star-flavoured) and continue buying runes I don't need just to say I have them all. So, what's up with this.

They've confirmed that they're not going forward with that particular usage for champ shards, as people wanted less luck based and more mastery themed methods of achieving higher mastery tiers.

That said, they still intend to give champ shards a use for people who own all champs.
