Is top lane always like this?

Where you die once and you might as well never try to fight them again?

I main jungle/sup/mid and I understand adc well enough but top just hurts my brain.

I got Irelia to rank 5 and it was occasionally fun but when I did well people get super salty (like, Soraka level salt) and I'm trying to pick up Illaoi now but the usual issue of idiots never grouping is only exacerbated by Illy wanting to have everyone around.

Also can we make it reportable when people act big when they pick Teemo into a melee lane, because that's some grade A scumbag there

if youre behind and then die, ofc youre not gonna win the next fight right again.

knowledge of individual champions power spikes, keeping an eye on their items and their cooldowns might win you the next round though.

for example if your opponent blew flash, ignite and ult to kill you, and you still have your cooldowns, dont hesitate and wait until he has his cooldowns back up. youre either gonna win now or not at all.

Top is the most unforgiving lane to learn how to play. That's why Riot gave us teleport for so long, just to bandaid the unforgiving snowball.

To answer your question, no, but you have to understand power spikes and itemization which takes a while.

Have you ever laned against Vayne?

basically yeah at least jungle if you cant get a kill or you die you can scurry yourself back to farm camps mid lane is more of a tug of war but a kill wont really do much if the other side can play safely and roam with their enemy laner adc is just who can farm the most in cs and kills supports is whoever can run around the map fastest and help in kills wins

there is alot to top lane (more then meats the eye). Minion control, freezing the lane, knowing champions power spikes (including your own), does the enemy have ignite or exhaust or teleport, do you have ignite or exhaust or teleport, making a trade and then going into a bush to drop minion aggro, level advantages (this is a big one), counters, knowing how to play vs counters, and much more.

This is just me being sloppy to be honest ^

top lane is more of a battle of experience rather than mechanics (although mechanics do play a part i just dont think its as important!). The more you know about every champion and their abilities and builds, the easier top lane gets.

Yeah, it's a brutal lane that few care about.

That's why top lane is self sufficient and has to be played smart.

Play Irelia or jax or something, it's always a fair fight.

Until they outscale you. Then it's their fight.

MysteriousBootie1/2/2016, 10:09:19 PM1 votes

just pick jax and no teemo will wanna play into you lol

Might as well make it reportable to pick Teemo, it's practically the reason he exists.

Also yes, losing one fight means you'll probably lose the next one too.

Not that Illaoi has to particularly care, given her ult has all of no cooldown.

Pretty much. Unless your champion counters theirs hard, dying in lane is pretty much means the lane is over for you.

Dunkrius2g1/3/2016, 3:37:04 AM1 votes

Anywhere is like that. Unless you get a gank and the guy is stupid enough to throw his lead away then yes you will come on top.

I love it when people play adc champs top........makes top lane awful to play.
