Karthus ult question/Tahm Kench

So, was talking with my bro about karthus ults and this came up and got me curious. If a Karthus ults and either an enemy or an ally kench happens to eat you, do you still take damage from the ult? (and if kench was an ally, does he take the damage of both?)
