Is it better to focus on a specific role/champion pool or should you be a jack of all trades

Curious? I have about 3 champs i mainly have been focusing on for the past month with the intention of finally having te nerve to play ranked. I hear soooo many bad experiences people have with the other ranking players that i wanted to make sure i knew what i was doing before hand. Problem is i dont always get the role i trained myself for despite telling my team im not that great anywhere else. I have played those roles before but not to that extent. I made it clear i wasnt gonna be as good in that spot but still got my rear chewed out all game because i was behind in CS in the bot lane

anyway im just wondering what my next move should be. Do i now go back to normals to focus on all the other lanes or should i continue to focus on my champ pool

I would just pick a champion for each lane, or maybe you cane pick a champ that fits 2 lanes. I rose from bronze to plat playing this way. You don't have to be good at every lane, just have knowledge on them.

Thats kinda what i thought but idk my first 3 games in ranked just went horrible. Everybody screaming at each other 4 minutes in. Last pick was suppose to be an adc and decided to play ziggs in the botlane. 2nd game was a raging afk reksai upset over some ks. Then 3rd game i made the mistake of picking jinx against a draven (admitted lack of experience on my part) and he just wrecked me. But people seem so angry i dont even know if i wanna bother with it for the sheer amount of rage that happens if the enemy gets first blood on up

i would focus on two playstyles of champions. one is whatever you want, and one is a support or tank role, since you will likely need to support or jungle with a tank at some time, so get good at it.

In a nutshell, play every single champ in this game several times over so you know what their abilities, possibilities, and limits are.

Then learn at least 3 champs for each role that you feel will allow you to excel in. Some of those champs can be used in other roles (see: Lulu). You'll need to eventually learn more champs as the game evolves but if you're just starting out then yeah stick with 3.
