@riot will we ever see a team builder for Ranked?

Sooo many games are won and lost in the champ selection screen just by people being unable to play the roles they are good at or some who are simply unwilling to move. 4 people jump in and call top and then fight over who got it first followed quickly by the copy/paste of their screen showing they said it first. Why not change the mode where you instead Q for the position you wish to play be it mid, jungle, top, adc, or support? That way bans and picks are not affected and the teams not already fighting before champ selection begins.

Doubt it will ever happen.

Team Builder takes out a lot of the preparation work and such. Also how would you work bans into it? Or are we going to just allow everything so that every game is Zed vs Zed?

Also Ranked is not about playing the champion or roll you want. It is about playing to win. It's about creating a team. It's about understanding the game as a whole. Bans, picks and counter picking are part of the Ranked game. If you only play Ziggs mid you will get countered at some point.

Sadly too many people enter Ranked like it's a normal game and don't consider team comp at all. This is why you'll get those masses of Riven mains who claim to win lane but lose game. Picking a good 1v1 champ but they brought nothing to the team because their team has quite a bit of mobile range and their Naut CC's her to death every teamfight.

A couple months back, Lyte said they're working on it.

It won't work the same as normal team builder, because ranked must have bans and counterpicks.

Many people are predicting a simple queue by role system, but I'm not convinced that will work. Those queue times tho.

Thats why i think instead of Q for champ u want you only Q for the positions. That way picks and bans are not affected.

I just dont think a player should be forced to play a role he is terrible at and then be the sacrificial lamb to his team as they destroy him with insults all game long

Ranked is competitive team play, not competitive solo play. You got to know how to play the game itself, just not mid.

And, uh, there's one flaw that team builder has that Riot won't allow for its ranked queues...

Here's an experiment:

Try to join a team as a support.
Form a team, and try to find a support.
Compare the time difference.

People just don't understand the value of supports beyond the heals and the stuns and the wards. Like, "It's all about me and you have to help me make all the plays!" instead of "I deal the damage and you make all the plays, let's work together and win!" so not a large majority wants to play support if given the choice. I'm sorry, but everyone is going to support from time to time and you should try to see and reach for the potential they have.

Because i think it would be pretty beneficial to let people play the role they are best at. The team dynamic is soooo much better if you dont have 4 guys all wanting top and then mad when they have to do things they maybe arent as comfortable with or really just flat out dont want to. Why force a player to play a position he doesnt want for 20-40 minutes. That player could alrady be at a disadvantage because lets face it anger doesnt bring about best decision making. And in this community sometimes one fals move is all it takes to get someone on tilt.

As for the support issue that is part of the appeal. People will play support in ranked because the Q is that much quicker. More games you play the more quickly you will rank up anyway.
