Even if he gets through his horrible laning phase and somehow manages to buy his extremely expensive items, he has a horrid late game. Good luck diving a squishy when a 0cs support can make you utterly useless and pressing R simply makes last whisper/void staff more effective against you.

Why not play Tryndamere then? He doesn't have a terrible laning phase and can do everything jax does.
If you got your triforce and bork around when everyone else finished their 2nd item, you should be miles ahead of them. if it was when they were full build, there's your problem
What is it with people thinking building armor/magic resist is pointless against Last Whisper/Void Staff? You still get a benefit, just not as much. (If you have 200+ Armor, 39%~ is about 80 less armor, for 120 armor, which is still over 50% damage reduction.
Also even if he fails in team fights, he can build tanky, build one or two damage items (usually Tri-Force) and destroy turrets and nexus, and no one can dent him, even with Last Whisper.

Jax can build tanky right after Tri-force and BortK and still do alot of damage, Tryn has to build all damage or he's missing out on alot.
Because it's because of him there should be a "Entering lategame" bell so overconfident carries step away from Jax instead of trying to 1vs1 him no matter if he has a losing score.
