He needs to be able to compete with other mages in terms of waveclear. HIs siege is terrible. I suggest giving his E double damage against minions. Out of the 7 Ryze games I played today, I lost one that I could have won if I could clear minions quicker.

Seriously though, he has plenty of waveclear, R+E and the entire group is dead. Then do it again 15 seconds later because you spammed all your abilities that much and it's a super low CD.
Ryze is fine, his ult+e can take out a wave pretty fast and not to mention by just spamming abilities your ult will be back up soon. He already has an extremely good late game, he needs weaknesses.

Ryze already has a disgustingly good late game, I really don't think he needs any help.
Why complain? He's a strictly better choice than Cassiopeia now.
You can even confirm this by seeing how much Ryze Riot Stashu is playing instead of the champion he destroyed.
