Mordekaiser: Let's Real Talk

Alright, how is Mordekaiser playing out for most of you? Is he doing well, could he use some buffs, is he a tad too oppressive? How do you tend to itemize on Morde? Do you prefer a more tanky build, a brusier build, or a glass cannon build?

Are there changes you would like for Mordekaiser in the future? I mean both gameplay wise and visually as well?

Meddler stated that they won't work on him for a while, Riot is currently in a 'wait and see' approach to things. Let's use this time to discuss things, and if we're lucky Riot could use this and other threads as personal feedback and make appropriate changes in the future depending on how things go.

i want a rework that takes the current playstyle and really pushes towards long-term DPS with a little bit of stat-thief mixed in.

since that probably won't happen the way I'd like it, I'd really be okay with some passable stat buffs and a base shield nerf to compensate

mord should take a massive hit to his ap stacking on R to allow a permanent pet. then they could make it to where minions can be reborn to help with laning/jungling. it'd be like he has his very own banner of command. the mace animation is silly. why not just turn it into a sweeping mace like darius's axe it'd still be a cone and it'd still affect everything it touches. otherwise he's fine.

I start doran's shield item 1054 . I build either thornmail item 3075 or spirit visage item 3065 first, depending on who I'm laning against. then I go rylais item 3116 and boots to stick to targets easier, and finally a bunch of AD from like blood thirster item 3072 and/or steraks gage item 3053 . I typically pick E first for farming, and max W first for sustain. If i'm ahead, I actually build Nashor's tooth item 3115 to more easily take dragon and baron.
