Sorry, but I'm having trouble understanding Ashe's new Q. I just can't get LoL's description in my head. I know at 5 stacks, if you activate it, you toss a volley of arrows, but what happens if you activate it earlier? Like at 3 or 4 stacks instead of 5? Thank you.

Ranger's Focus Applying Frost Shot grants Focus for 4 seconds, stacking up to 5 times. Activating Ranger's Focus consumes all Focus stacks, granting 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40% Attack Speed and boosting Frost Shot's slow by an additional 20% for 4 seconds.
If 5 stacks are consumed, Ashe's basic attacks are replaced by a flurry of arrows resulting in 1.15 / 1.20 / 1.25 / 1.30 / 1.35 of her Total Attack Damage per attack for the duration.
if u hit Q before 5 stacks then you burn all ur stacks (use up the stacks) granting bonus attack speed per level, and boosting the passive slow for 4 secs.....

El Condor Pasa2 votesThe stacks promote aggression and adds a period of weakness when not already engaged in combat. In the event that an Ashe needs to fight after a brief lull in action (just got back to lane, roaming, ganking, etc.) and Volley wasn't sufficient in generating 5 stacks, the player needs to decide: Do I get attack speed now or do I attack a couple more times before melting my foe?

0-4 stacks you get this
Ashe gains bonus attack speed and increases Frost Shot's Slow icon slow strength by 20% for 4 seconds.
5 stack you get this
cause each of Ashe's basic attacks to fire a flurry of five arrows. Each arrow deals modified damage that stacks multiplicatively with Frost Shot.png Frost Shots and benefits from life steal. The flurry will trigger on-attack effects five times but on-hit effects are only applied once.

If you get 5 stacks, you get the volley of arrows as well.
NuckaChucka2 votesIt's nice and promotes aggressive play style. Instead of the whole don't attack to allow your crit to build up like the old way Ashe's passive use to want you to play. You now kind of get rewarded for attacking something. If you need those 5 stacks quickly you can always shoot your volley into a group of minions to gain the stacks quickly. I like activating 5 stacks of Q with Youmuu's Ghostblade. Makes for a nice burst of damage. It also allows you to stack the Black Cleaver in 2 auto attacks. Which with those 2 activated it caps the armor reduction very fast. I build Ashe weird maybe, I dunno. It's fun. Experiment.
