What is the Difference Between a Tank and a Bruiser?

I was reorganizing my rune pages when the idea occurred to me. What really is the difference between the two? Also, what are some good rune builds for them?

tank generally has more tank stats and more CC/utility bruiser deals more damage at the cost of tank stats

do not confuse either with juggernauts who brute force their way into fights with no real mobility or CC.

The difference between tanks and fighters is how they threaten the enemy team.

Tanks are generally threats due to their CC and utility. Examples include Gragas, Maokai, Sejuani, and Nautilus.

Fighters are primarily threats due to their damage. Examples include Garen, Volibear, Mundo, and Nasus.

Tanks generally have more CC and defensive oriented kits while having some beefy stats (or heavily benefit from defensive stats more than offensive stats).

Rune wise? I'd recommend some penetration reds actually. Tanks don't build many offensive stats, but they still use them.

A tank is a large, usually treaded war machine.

A bruiser is someone who causes bruises... stereotypically a thuggish individual who picks fights.

There ya go.
