All of you are saying Fiora is bad now

She has some insane escape power along with amazing 1v1 prowess.

shes supposed to be more difficult with higher payoff.

most people are just not practised enough with this new fiora and suck at her. give it a couple of weeks.

its the same with gp imo. there are some tricks to using his barrels, and some timing required, which also takes practise.

Or we could just play someone like Jax who does her job better (dueling).

does jax deal up to 80% max health true damage on his ult with his regular build? i think not. does he have an aoe heal for his entire team that heals up to 2000 health with the same build? nope.

shes more dificult to use, but if she gets all 4 marks on a target, it doesnt matter who she fights. the guy is dead. a 5k health chogath or a 500 armor rammus die almost as fast as any squishy.

jax cant do that. give it time before you judge her.

Now you're cherry picking.

Can Fiora reset her auto attack, effectively increasing her dps? Can Fiora stun the enemy team without enemy input? Can Fiora blow all her cooldowns and then turn a tower to rubble in 3 seconds? Can Fiora build tankyish and still provide meaningful damage for her team?

I mean, I can pick through a champion's kit and highlight their strengths too. Jax does her job better (dueling) and if I wanted a team wide heal, I'd just pick Soraka or Janna. I can pick any of them and -not- have to play another game in my game.

she can reset her auto attack with her e....

her e has a 3 second cooldown by lategame at cdr cap (something you should be aiming for anyways).

she cant stun more than one target, but she can go invincible and dodge any ability in the game with proper timing. including things like a darius ult and summoner spells like exhaust or ingite (even though the latter is more dependent on luck but you get the idea).

youre severely underestimating the impact on a properly timed parry.

by the way since she builds a ton of raw ad, she destroys towers pretty well.

Ok. I'll concede the auto attack reset but Jax's W is on a 3 second cool down without CDR at late game. Once Jax gets his botrk, he can just stun Darius, beat the crap out of him, and sustain through his damage. If Darius still wants to fight, he'll probably die before he gets his ult out.

So there's that. Jax does it better. Why play the inferior choice?

And since we're editing posts and all, I'd argue you're severely overestimating a gimmicky ability. Why would I even want to bother with something that requires so many inputs to work properly when I can just pick someone like Jax, or even Riven, and get the same job done faster, more efficiently, and with less variables? Fewer variables means fewer chances at unexpected outcomes and that leads to more positive situations for me. So why would I even want to bother with it? If we're being subjective, Jax and Riven are just as fun so there's that.

you would bother with it because the payoff in damage is much larger than even for jax. its % true damage. so no matter how tanky your target is you should have the damage to fight and kill him. something thats not true for jax.

in your example, fiora would parry the darius pull, and stun him. or let herself get pulled and activate the ult. she would then move around him with her q in the inner circle of his axe range, where she takes less damage. she would be slowing him with his e to move around him better, popping the marks.

if he could get 5 stacks on her during that fight, she would parry the ult and put it on cooldown, finish him off and heal up on the aoe.

id say the new fiora can 1v1 better than jax if you dont make any mistakes.

Or I could just pick Jax/Renekton/Xin/Gnar/Trundle/Riven/etc, do all that with less work without playing DDR in the process, and then do more. None of those champions "critically" depend on a 70s cooldown to feel like they "contributed" to a team fight either. I only mention those particular characters because we're talking about dueling anyways.

If I was fighting Darius, I'd just pick Jayce and poke him out of lane. Again, I wouldn't have to play DDR to do it either. Same job, half the time, less work, fewer variables, more efficient.

So...why pick Fiora when I can just play someone that does it better?

team utility. the heal does make a large impact.

So does Gnar's stun, Trundle's ult turning their tank or initiator into paper, and Riven's combo.

She's situational at best and so situational, she's a niche within a niche. Niche-ception if you would and that situation is "Do I want to screw around and play Fiora?" If yes, pick Fiora. If you want to actually play the game, you pick someone else.

You pick Trundle to dismantle their tanks. You pick Jax for his ability to be tanky and be an oppressive split pusher. You pick Riven to -duel- and outplay your opponent. You pick Gnar to be a mobile tanky disruptive force. You pick Jayce to provide poke from your top/mid laner. Hell, you pick Teemo for his ambush/mine field strategies.

You can't say you pick the melee assassin duelist Fiora for her healing ult. That doesn't make sense. If you wanted that utility in your team comp, just pick Soraka and hit R when necessary. It's global and doesn't require any additional inputs to do the same thing arguably better.

We're just debating here and it's fun and all, but that's the crux of the argument. Everything Fiora does, someone in this game does it better and easier. Not only do they do it better, they also provide other utilities that Fiora doesn't. Fiora is new and shiny, but that's about it.

The difference is with GP everyone saw instant benefits for him, it took absolutely no practice to see a huge jump with him. Once you practiced with him he went from great go AMAZING. Fiora starts crappy and with lots of practice gets... meh. no double dash means its harder to jump to people, and her new ult..... umm yeah whoever thought minigames was the way to go needs to be hung up and beaten like a pinata
