I feel, with the growing list of champions, 6 bans total don't really affect teams that much. A personal suggestion i have is to allow 10 bans (5 per team) this would also allow each person to select one ban. This would allow each person to try to control the game a little. What are your opinions? Stay the same or does it need a change?
I don't think it needs changed. With 5 bans per team, people can just ban stupid OP champs like Yasuo, and then proceed to ban all their counters. At high elos, this would be very problematic.
The issue is that people will generally just perma ban a select group of champions. I already have a hard enough time picking up Lee Sin, who I find to be very fun, in draft mode. I feel like we could increase the bans to 4 for each team, but I would like for their to be two rounds of banning rather than just banning the bulk of champs you don't like. I want banning to be more intelligent than it is now. That's my opinion, anyway. I think 10 is too much, though.
Adding more bans does not solve any issue. Basically what will happen is 4 more champions will become "permabans" and you will have a longer banning cycle in which they could copy paste the bans and get the same results 90% of the time.
I like how it is. I do like the idea of more than just the captain getting a choice in who is banned though. It's frustrating when the captain either bans your mains without asking, or uses all 3 bans for their own Lane and doesn't care elsewhere (then proceeds to complain that they're winning Lane and the team sucks, of course you're winning Lane when you've banned all your counters and left everyone else out to dry! ). I just think 10 bans is too much, you'd start seeing 4+bans towards a single role (especially if you're planning to choose an off meta pick in that role).
