Remake? How about you fix this RIOT.

Recently decided to play some ranked games, all went well until our adc and supp forgot to switch. Great, maybe we can still win. Nope the draven doesn't even connect to the game. Yes! we can remake! All of a sudden "a summoner has reconnected" only he didn't. "a summoner has disconnected" followed within ten seconds and that was it. we had to sit through a 4v5 hoping to accomplish something only to surrender at 15 minutes because there was no chance. Riot how about adjusting your system so that people who disconnect, attempt to reconnect and fail, still allow the remake option. Or find a way to deal with people who afk in games such as a mercy button where the other team can unanimously vote a single opponent as ruining the game and the losing team receives slight LP loss. Its ridiculous that you lose just but queuing up. From my point of view, individuals should at least have a chance to win before they lose lp. Fix these issues riot, I am not the only one with them.

It's a seriously hard thing to fine-tune. Imagine the potential for abuse!

Remake requires very specific circumstances because they'd rather allow some games that SHOULD have been remade to continue on than allow games that SHOULDN'T be remade to be remade. It's a narrow line, but they're doing the best they can.

Mercy vote seems hella wonky. LP is zero-sum or approximately zero-sum, right? If LP loss can be forgiven, then surely the LP gains would need to be lowered, which would mess everything up.

Well take in consideration the thoughts of other people. You for one would disagree on this system. So it would be likely that you do not vote yes on a mercy vote that must be unanimous. The neding result would be normal. But you have definitely played games where there was, whether it be on your team or their team, a player that downright ruined the game. Toxic, afk, feeding, you name it, but the game would have a very healthy outcome if they had not clicked accept on matchmaking. Wouldn't those games justify a mercy vote? We cannot control the actions of other players, but those who promote a toxic environment should not have the power they hold over other people.

Imagine you suddenly dc in loading screen next game and you reconnect at 3.10 minute, but even though you are connected your team innitiates a remake and you loose 16LP and get into lower-priority queue.

After you considered this point of view, you'll eventually understand that the way the remake systeme works is the right way.

Couldn't disagree with this more, even if I am talking about myself, if I fail to connect and inconvenience 9 other people I deserve to lose L.P.. If it happens frequently, I deserve to keep losing L.P. until I have the bright idea to trouble shoot my connection

I agree with Makior72. Even though i rarely fail to connect, I deserve the loss because even a minute behind in lane can be detrimental in some cases. I rarely come across remake votes that save the game rather than fail and we have to continue for a 15-20 minute game ending in a loss.
