This, I don't think he's overpowered. He's just REALLY badly designed imo.

People have hated Tryndamere for years.

it's his ability to splitpush and delete towers with very little counterplay even when behind that make him a pain to deal with.

Its the forum disease. When one complaint thread pops up, more will come.

Thornmail was also changed and Tryndamere has more overall damage.

HE always was annoying and always will be until he has that ridicuolus ultimate. The problem is he has mobility, slows, and literally nobody can 1v1 him from lv6 on.

tbh I think the removal of slow stacking helped him among the most of any champion. He's ALWAYS been a champ who you either kite for 4-5 very crucial seconds or he deletes the adc then lifesteal tanks your front line, slow stacking gone means his average speed in teamfights is up which means he gets to the adc that much more often.

It boils down to:

Free Critical Strike chance makes him have a huge advantage in trades top lane. Effectively allows him to counter a ton of champions.
Pretty good sustain as well
Can build pure damage since his ult basically covers tank stats.
Ridiculous splitpushing
Ridiculously confusing CC in Mocking Shout (Asides from being a 4 second AD reduction crippling an ADC somewhat hard, if you are trying to run away from him, you can't since he slows you pretty hard for the same 4 seconds, which would be the sensible thing to do since either you try and escape so he doesn't kill you or you try and fight him and still die because you lost AD for a good duration and can't reasonably duel him at all.)
Second mention of ult, which lets him tower dive ridiculously easy.
Very out dated kit.
