Lux does NOT need buffs.

she Is a good champion with pros and cons, she has a weakness which Is high mana costs and she should keep It.

last patches were arguably not the fan favorites, even that I would be grateful for reverts being done, but that Is the previous page,we have learned from our mistakes, have we?You want some champion feedback?then make a survey for PBE players after a game that involved these reworked champions, ask them If they like how you are tuning them, this way,you can have more usable feedback.

I wasn't there when at the PBE you did all these recent reworks and I regret not giving out my two cents, but It's just like voting, you can't complain If you didn't vote, but now,I see that as player of this huge community,a grain that helped making this sandbox a desert,my opinion MATTERS.(yes I'm having a breakdown)

and as such,I must now complain, because even If I am a mere decibel part of this voice of reasoning,I must do my part.

You're complaining about lux when Viktor Azir and Ahri are still up?

Viktor, Azir, and Ahri don't have the massive CC + Range + Damage she has.

What? Lux has one hard cc? Ahri has 1 hard cc? azir can pinball an entire team? Viktor has 1hard cc? Viktor can 100-0 in q-e meanwhile lux requires you to q-e-r+passive? Ahri has 3dashes a heal, a built in dfg, and a stupid ms buff. Azir can zone the entire enemy team and can literally choose where they go? Not to mention he's pretty much a hypercarry lategame. and has the same amount of range with soldiers if not more. Once again, azir can 100-0 with 2-3 soldiers.

FantasySniper3 votes

Viktor, Azir, and Ahri are all missing one of the 3 elements that are present in Lux's kit. Azir is missing the CC and arguably range, Viktor is missing the CC, Ahri is missing the range.

Lux can slow you, snare you, and then kill you all at 1000 range. Don't forget that her spells are on notoriously low CDs for such high reward effects.

Another thing to add to this is that Lux has 3 damage spells, not 4. It would be absurd for Lux to have damage as reliable as Ahri, Viktor, or Azir while having access to a teamwide shielding ability.

AMYS GRAVE1 votes

Azir is missing the CC and arguably range

Azir has a slow, a full team knockback, a shield

Lux has a slow, a two target root, a shield

but Azir has lower mana costs, more mobiliity, shorter cooldowns, and higher damage.

Don't forget that her spells are on notoriously low CDs for such high reward effects.

all her cd are 10+ seconds even at max rank, Azirs w gets to the point where it can be recharged in 8 sec with a 1.5 second cd, and q gets down to 6.

FantasySniper2 votes

Azir doesn't have the range or execute power.

Azir's CD's are lower because the abilities aren't as powerful. Lux can deal insane damage fairly quickly, and doesn't need her ultimate for self-peel nor needs to be within melee range to shield herself. Azir needs those abilities on low CD because he needs to continuously reposition both his soldiers and himself to stay safe or even to use his ultimate.

AMYS GRAVE1 votes

FantasySniper2 votes

ADCs usually have direct action between attacking and depend on attack-move, but Azir's main method of damage relies on his soldiers being there, and not only do they have poor personal range, they don't move around without his [Q].

You're really stupid if you think that Azir can get by with his soldiers and ult alone.

AMYS GRAVE1 votes

when did i ever say that? straw man argument much?

also wow the downvotes. i didn't realize that mobility was a bad thing to have on a champion. lol@boards.

FantasySniper1 votes

You implied it when you "corrected" my quote that stated he needs those mechanics. Pretending it's anything different is not correct.

AMYS GRAVE1 votes

You imagine what i say and make up the arguments i said, putting implications where there were none. Pretty much the definition of straw man. Stating the facts is too much to handle for these boards i guess.

FantasySniper1 votes

By "correcting" my quote to anything but "need", it's not a strawman fallacy, because my argument still stands as you consider it incorrect by "correcting" it.

Azir repositions using his [Q] and [E], so if he doesn't need to reposition, then he doesn't need to use his [Q] and [E]. I was defending my point and countering anything else that disagreed it with it. If you're not agreeing with me, then I'm still doing the argument right.

AMYS GRAVE1 votes

You're right, any mobile champion doesn't_ need_ their mobility, but they get to have it and it is an advantage that they have it none the less. The straw man comes in when you put the argument that he could, "get by with his soldiers and ult alone." in my mouth for me, which is a horrible misrepresentation of what i actually said.

Viktor has cc? Azir has cc too? Ahri trades mobility for range. Not trying to say Lux isn't strong or anything but i think there are champions that we should worrying about instead of lux.

FantasySniper2 votes

Viktor's CC is delayed and otherwise pretty unnoticeable. Azir only (briefly) has it on his ultimate.

Lux is pretty strong at the moment, there's no reason to be buffing her to be better than she already is.

RyzeRework2 votes

azir can sit back and poke and do okay damange viktor ahri have to be close as shit to do damange lux has the range of azir with the damange of viktor and ahri

Toastey4 votes

Full spell rotation damage

Lux Min: 1154 (+2.25 AP) Max: 1462 (+2.65 AP) Notes: Must be in autoattack range to proc passive every time it's available. Long cooldown spells with high mana costs. All skillshots. Immobile.

Ahri Min: 630 (+1.55 AP) Max: 1154 (+2.74 AP) Notes: Rewarded for close-range, full spell rotations, but can easily escape with R. Low cooldown spells. Highly mobile.

Viktor Min: 720 (+1.45 AP) Max: 1660 (+3.63 AP) Notes: Must be in autoattack range to fully use Q. R has to be moved around for the full damage. Very low cooldown Q, but high cooldown E. Immobile, but W gives self-peel.

Can't really calculate Azir's damage since he's a right-click-based mage. I can tell you, though, that his damage isn't "okay". It's absurdly high and very, very safe.

RyzeRework2 votes

azir is a lategame powerhouse that trades off for early game weakness viktor is also lategame power house but is closer range then lux, lux ult on max cd is like a 30 second nuke that can be used 2 times in team fights lux also has a high damane asorbing sheild which viktor has an okay sheild

Toastey3 votes

LOL "early game weakness" have you had the great pleasure of laning against azir

RyzeRework1 votes

i have he has a shit laneing phase with no damange you can easily outrange him with a kogmaw or a xearth and azir gets crushed so easily

Toastey2 votes

well, it's true that there are no good azirs in silver 1, so i don't expect you've ever played against a proper azir.

AMYS GRAVE1 votes

You just named the two longest range champs in the game. Implying that he can be outranged is bogus when that is your comparison point.

RyzeRework1 votes

because everyone has a counter longer range counters azir azir counters closer range people its that simple provided his kit i mean do i have to spell it out? last whisper counters tanks exhuast counters damange do i really need to futher explain for you to understand that everyone has a counter?

AMYS GRAVE1 votes

I never said azir didn't have counters, but when you say...

you can easily outrange him

that is just wrong. Azir has one of the longest effective ranges (through spell combos) in the game. His combo brings him into damaging range from much farther than everything kogmaw has and xerath has except his ult.

RyzeRework2 votes

kogmaws ult outranges him xearth q outranges his sand soliders

AMYS GRAVE1 votes

Azir dashes to a sand soldier + repositions it mid dash + summons one at the end of the dash.

Effective combo range from where he was just standing 1100 + 875 + 450 = 2,425

Shocking no?

RyzeRework1 votes

So this is azir moving not standing back letting his sand soldiers with w autos this is him dashing forward which puts him at risk? In that case tf and shen have the longest ranges in the game I mean they can ult many units away

the immobile champion who relies on a skillshot for her safety is safe in the league of gap closers

lmao

her burst is actually not that high when compared to most mages and assassins (even taking her passive into account)

I am not,I am happy In the state she Is.I want her to remain a fair and respectful opponent(yea ok she Is maybe a bit high on numbers, but her kit Is pretty fair),because when she Is going to be overwhelming,Riot Is going to bring the Piñata breaker, and the salty ones will cheer for Rito, claiming they have brought peace and balance back Into their magical realm, but It would of only fed a beast that will starve again soon.

A reminder that her ult belongs in category "retarded".

Lux is very weak right now. I read the buff on PBE and I don't think it's nearly enough for her to become a decent pick on midlane. Too long cooldowns, high mana cost, very imobile, every single spell is a skillshot (not to say you can literary walk out of her ult), the passive becomes almost useless when mid-late game hits since you can't go into that range without being punished for it, also very low dmg when behind. At best you could play her as support for her utility, but that's all. A really weak pick midlane, unless extremly fed and very ahead of other players there are a lot of better scaling champions at any moment of the game.

I disagree.

her damage Is very good considering It Is aoe.

Mana?,CDR?

Athene's or morello's pick one,and If you have cdr runes, enjoy your 30 secs cooldown kamehameha

useless behind? she has a slow,a snare ,AN AOE DOUBLE SHIELD and a long range finisher. Not useless.

Oh,and a little bird told me utility mages are good. Nowadays

you can make a champion look strong or weak by only gazing the points you desire.

Lux has all its spells as skillshots and pretty easy to dodge each one of them. There's a good reason Lux is almost never picked in high elo (Master+) also never picked on LCS = she is very weak and has no reliable spells since they are all skillshots and VERY easy to dodge. Maybe in the lowest divisions of this game aka Bronze/Silver/Gold every champion can be seen as OP by delusional players that never seen good matches, but in reality they are really worthless and weak. I myself climbed to Diamond using Lux last season, I can assure you I did it because I liked the champion, not because she is "fine" or OP, in fact nowhere close to being "fine".

These numbers come from the part of the player base Riot claims to primary balance around. And they say she is fine as is.

x1tach1x1 votes

If anything her cool-downs could be slightly lowered. Besides her ult the rest of her kit has pretty long cooldowns. They could lower her E cooldown by 1 or 2 seconds to put it on par with other champs cooldowns like Ahri, Brand, Anivia etc

Toastey1 votes

Riot's buffing Lux in the wrong place imo... I understand that they're trying to evolve her niche as a long-range, pick enabler, but she was already quite at that to begin with. The only buffs Lux really needs are slightly decreased mana cost on her E and vision grant on her passive.

I think they tested that a long time ago (on PBE, never made it to live) and I was removed because you could then take her bot lane and the enemy effectively had no bushes XD

Toastey2 votes

that's not really a valid argument... for 150g you could achieve the same thing. throwing skills willy nilly into the bushes would burn your entire mana bar faster than you can hit level 4, especially on support lux.

x1tach1x1 votes

Both the mana cost on her E and cool-down are used to limit the use of the spell. Currently the cool-down is 10 at all levels which means late game she can cast it once maybe twice in a long fight with no cdr. The mana serves as an early game regulator because every point you put in it makes it cost more mana but the only late game trade off is increased damage. With 40% cool-down the time her cd gets reduced to 6s but that is the base cd for most other casters of her type before they apply their cdr. Not using cdr blues and with an Athene's you will have 25% cdr considering you opted for the 5% mastery which will result in a 7.5s cd which is still significantly higher than other champions of her type for her main damage spell. I agree that her E is what needs to be looked at. The mana cost on it is significantly higher than most champions non ults. At level 3 it has the same mana cost as her ult. Also take into consideration that lux has to expose herself in order to AA to gain her full damage potential with the proc.

Lux and Morgana seem to be partners in design considering they have similar kits but Morgana has drifted into the support realm so her moves have been balanced accordingly but lux is floating towards the APC mage but she has similar balance as Morgana numbers wise. I say they lower her Cooldowns slightly, drop her base damage on the spells but increase her AP ratio's. This way support lux does not become OP, but mage lux gets normalized to fit in with the rest of the mages. She will scale better with items therefore becoming item dependent for damage but will retain her utility and overall damage if she is doing well.

The scaling cd will not effect her lane phase that much as she is still very mana hungry and gets hungrier with each point. It will just mean she will have to be a lot more aware of her mana use considering she can use her abilities more often at later levels.

AMYS GRAVE1 votes

she has a weakness which Is high mana costs and she should keep It.

She's got no added mobility in her kit, her damage is extremely telegraphed, her damage is low compared to most mages, AND her mana costs are sky high.

She's got more than a weakness.

LadyRenly1 votes

Lux is strong, and rather obnoxious in ARAM. There is literally nothing wrong with her. She's not Quinn, she performs just fine, and her abilities/stats have glaring pros and cons.

Poop Jelly1 votes

Lux has more than just 1 weakness. For a mid laner, in fact, she's got much more flaws than others. High mana cost be the 1st real issue, everything is skill-shot based, immobile, relatively high cool downs xcept for ult as ults should be, mediocre scaling.

Mobile mid champs completely face-roll lux with both damage and mobility to dodge her spells.

Other ranged mages have better scalings and self-peeling if needed. Let's take Xerath and Ziggs in comparison for example. Xerath has a built-in mana regen and his main poke is much faster than Lux's E. His E is also used more defensively and most likely have it when needed. Ziggs's bombs, altho not as accurate as Lux's and Xerath's pokes, has a much shorter CD. Despite those facts, the ranged mages aren't in meta currently.
