pure true damage. As in instead of 1000 magic damage plus 300 true dmg (or around there)

try 1000 true damage

I don't know how much I should look forward to the update...

  • By bringing an Ap scaling into his passive, he will probably will turn into an Ap stacker, as opposed to the Utility & Penetration build I, and I think many more were using
  • His Q seems to be his primary farming tool now, since it now has a mana refund
  • His E, they only problem (I ever had) in his kit, stays the way it is. The problem was not the spell itself, but the insane travel time. It didn't even have flight speed, like a projectile, it always needed the same ~1.25 seconds until it reaches it's destination, which is extremely inefficient in close range, where his whole kit kinda fails

True damage ultimate? Fine

I mean, I think that's a pretty good way to keep him balanced. It's a good, clear weakness that isn't too hard to exploit unless he focuses all of his self-peel on you.

The new ult will be... weird...

Personally, I think the AP on his passive was a good thing. I've been suggesting it ever sense they put a ratio on Lux's passive.

Because his ratios were so low, he relied on CDR and regen to stack his passive as quickly as possible. (Which kinda falls off for a mage, but made a fine poke support.)

And the true damage ult, (While some what limited on who it deals true damage too) is going to have enough situational power to be devastating. (Tanks will melt)

Skelenth1 votes

Because his ratios were so low, most of the Vel'Koz' I've seen relied on magic penetration. I already did true damage to everyone who didn't build Maw/Abyssal Scepter in lane. Now they've just skyrocketed his true damage. Magic Penetration probably won't even be an option anymore, because of how much you rely on the passive.

Don't get me wrong, I'm okay with the changes being there, but, I just think they've overdone it.

why build penetration on a true damage champ

Skelenth1 votes

The penetration made the rest of his kit true damage too, and, if you didn't know, the true damage had no ap scaling, so it had no profit from this stat whatsoever. Penetration on the other hand went well with his high base damage and low scalings.

TheJinxedOne1 votes

i mean the new version. i havent read deep, just read comments. but doesnt it scale now?

Skelenth1 votes

Yes, that's why his build drastically changed You probably just stack tons of ap now

550/800/1050 (+100% AP) true damage laser

HeofShadow1 votes

It stacks the passive until you burst them, and then it starts dealing True damage to those targets that the passive proc'd on, but it stops proccing the passive then, instead of just proccing the passive repeatedly. This let's you set up an ult by deconstructing someone beforehand, and then ulting, so they take the entirety of it it True damage, stuff like that, it's basically the same. You burst the enemy for True damage and then do more True damage consistently, instead of doing damage and bursting for some True damage several times.
