we all talk about whether new or freshly reworked champions should be allowed in ranked from day 1 of release because of reasons such as not being able to know how to play both as or against ...

However we also have champions that have been out for a long time that people just randomly play because they may have seen a game in LCS and want to copy it or something ...

Basically my point is ... in my opinion if we are to ever prevent new champs being played in ranked for a bit then we also need a limit to stop people playing a champ theyre very inexperienced with or have never played before ...

Id love to see a system where only mastery level 4 or 5 as an example can be shown in your champion select page

I am all for playing new champs in ranked because its a risk some players can understand how to play as and enemies tsruggle to know what to do but it works against too and id love to take that risk but i feel if we want these banned for some times then it should apply to all champions

I've been playing since Preseason 1. As a result I have a lot of experience on most of the champions in the game, and solid enough mechanics to pick up any champion but the most complex to a place where, within a few games, I'm comfortable on them.

Since Mastery came out, however, I have had less time to play, and spread my playtime across a wider champion pool. As a result, I have only nineteen champions with a Master higher than 3, despite having about 92 champions I'm comfortable to very comfortable playing and every champion owned.

By putting in a system like this you're not taking into account players whose main skill is a breadth of champion diversity and experience rather than a focus on one or two, and you'd also be denying me the ability to trade champions to my allies (since I can't pick/play them) or use my deep champion pool to fill in gaps in a team or counterpick my lane.

I do not want those options stripped from me in ranked.

But yes, you're right that the no new champions argument leads to this natural conclusion. Which is part of why, to me, new champions in ranked is fine.

because mastery 7 won't deter that yasuo from going 0/10 because mastery 25 won't stop the ahri 2.9 billion mastery points missing every ability all game

some players can first time a champion and outperform your mains
