Towers feel underwhelming

Is it just me?

Towers feel like they don't do enough damage that is significant. With this big mobility "meta" it's easy to dive under a tower without being punished or any risk. Late game they just feel like a tickle. I just wish they're more menacing so there's at least some risk involved when trying to do a risky play, instead of "Oh, let me tank 4 tower hits along with you attacking me and still get out alive!" kind of deal.

Sure this sounds like i'm whining, but it just doesn't feel safe to farm under tower anymore.

These days, towers aren't there to defend you, you are there to defend them.

Not saying I like this state of affairs; I do agree that they are a bit weak and a lot of champions can tower-dive too early and too easily.

When I first started a few months ago, they were a lot more dangerous than they are now. I liked it better the old way.

They also don't target tower divers immediately when they attack you.

Really, some champs' passives should be changed to "Whenever this champion enters a lane, all enemy turrets in that lane dissolve." Zed comes to mind.

Me and Kalista just won a teamfight and aced the enemy team. Kalista- "Good Job Jayce, Let's take middle inner and base" Jayce- "kk" -pushes down helpless tower in 5 seconds flat- Kalista- "Alright base" Jayce- "Nah let's get the inhib turret too, we have 20 seconds" Kalista "We have no minions and no tank though!" Jayce "It's fine, I built item 3071 I got hp!" -we take the turret and I only lose about 60% hp from tanking a full health inhib turret with no minions or tank items-

Not to mentioned certain champions notorious for 100-0 inhib turrets with no minions.. Jax Nocturne Olaf XinZhao Udyr Tryndamere

I think the easiest way to prevent tower dives would be outfitting all turrets with item 3022 or item 3116, whichever their tower shots work with.

All half-kidding aside, if you are bothered by their late game uselessness, just have them ignore portions of a target's armor, so building more tankiness is less effective.

Early game, towers are there to protect you. Late game, they are just there to stop minions and deter tower dives. At all points in the game, if a tanky enough champion or the enemy has enough of a numbers advantage, you will be dove and there is nothing a tower can do to stop it.

You don't realize how underwhelming the towers really are until Udyr solo takes your entire base on an ace without minions.

I was able to tank an inhib turret as Voli and take the turret down with no minions (it was full health and I had no damage items). Yeah...the turrets are near pointless late game, especially in this tanky meta.

Early game isn't any better when 3 people means someone is dead under a tower.

thresh can lantern them out after the game, half the champs can just jump away, half the time at worst taking 1 tower shot while getting the kill, etc. Hell even garen at level 6 (I've done it and had it done to me) can walk under turret, ult kill someone, and walk away.

The turrets feel silly and are rarely any threat. Look at the MSI games today, people just doing laps around turrets diving people. Saw someone get Cass ulted under turret when diving, still got the kill, still didn't die.

Riot just hates passive play to such a degree that they have knee capped turrets over the past year and a half in favor of faster games for E-Sports.

you shouldn't be safe to farm under tower. it's boring and not enough big lcs plays

seriously they used to be stronger and were made weaker to encourage active lanes where people actually fight and die.

also, go play dota a bit and come back and you'll see how overpowered league towers actually are in comparison

I agree that towers need some more power early. As an ADC main, I think it's stupid that I can win a trade by using my ability on an enemy at level 1 and taking a tower hit. Towers should at least be a major threat early. I'm fine with lategame towers being weak, although not having minions should mean that you can't solo towers.

Trust me, look at the towers in HoN and DotA, they're absolutely retarded, and often decide to swap targets randomly to screw up your tower farming. Towers in the other MOBAs offer relatively no safety other than being a TP beacon with true sight. The towers in this are meant to become irrelevant late game, as by that point every thing is decided by teamfights and objective capturing.

Honestly I think the turrets are fine. They are decent protection early game, and by mid-late game, you need to be protecting THEM. It's a nice switch.

Making them too strong will make all games take 10+ minutes longer which is just unnecessary. Making them weaker will make them absolutely moot.

I get that it's annoying when the enemy team tower dives... but you should be cautious of enemies at all times... There shouldn't be a 100% safe zone you can stand in where enemies will get shredded if they attack you. Turrets just add supplementary damage... Think of them like that, and you won't be so mad when you die to a tower dive.

Too often I see my teammates standing under tower getting dived and they don't react... they just hope the tower does all the damage to kill the enemy. They don't bother to try and disengage the enemy or CC them or anything... or even bother to try and run or dodge skillshots... They just stand there and hope the tower does damage. I think there is a bit too much dependence on towers.

Was just in a game with a Vel Koz mid and the enemies just started diving him around the 10 minute mark and the tower helped him not a single bit. They just don't do damage to tanky people.

when i play Sion i can stand under a tower, spam taunt, and ult away

Either make the tower do more damage to champs or attack faster against champs. Thing is riot cant just increase the damage and attack speed for turrets as it ruins the last hitting under turret thing cuz everyone is already used to it. Did that make any sense?
